LSU interim head coach Frank Wilson is expected to join Pete Golding's staff at Ole Miss, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

It is reported that Wilson will join Ole Miss after LSU's Texas Bowl on Jan. 28.

Wilson has served as LSU’s running backs coach and associate head coach since 2022. He was elevated to interim head coach after Brian Kelly was fired.

Wilson will reconnect with Golding, who was his defensive coordinator at UTSA from 2016-2017.

The move could pave the way for current Ole Miss running back coach Kevin Smith to end up in Baton Rouge with Lane Kiffin again.

It seems only fair that LSU release him now and not let him coach our team in the bowl game to keep him from recruiting our current players and those he is supposed to be recruiting out of high school.

Please relieve him of his duties NOW!!!!!!! Yes every coach who have taken other gigs are being allowed to coach out the year EXCEPT FOR LANE KIFFIN (all assistants can coach and Ole Piss is the only party who is objecting) so I say absolutely not should Frank be allowed to coach LSU anymore this year

I don't think CLK had any intention to keep Wilson on staff. If he did it would have been done already. I hate to lose him as a recruiter, but the sun will come up tomorrow and I have to trust CLK will assemble the best staff in college football.

Nil money does the recruiting now

Because he could recruit to LSU doesn't mean players will follow him to other schools. If that was the case he would have recruited a lot of good players to UTSA. The school is much more important to recruits than an individual recruiter and now NIL beats both of them.

Is this like a preemptive cope, or what is this?

All I know is that are run game was horrific. Sure Brad Davis had something to do with that along with Sloan, but Frank was in there too.

Can we get chart of which OM coaches and which LSU coached are going where? Seems like a 1-to-1 switch of sides, but it's hard to keep up with the "I'm going but after the bowl game" and all.

No big surprise here. If he we going to be here Lane would have retained him earlier. LSU will be just fine with Kevin Smith and all of the NIL money.
