Former LSU head coach Brian Kelly is joining the CBS College Football commentator crew this fall and will be calling the Mountain West games, according to to Front Office Sports.
quote:

“CBS Sports has one Big Ten football game a week, as well as Mountain West rights,” Glasspiegel wrote. “This season, Charles Davis is replacing Gary Danielson alongside Brad Nessler on Big Ten games at the network. Kelly is expected to be part of a three-man booth on Mountain West games on the broadcast network, one source said …

“This move was partly foreshadowed when Kelly was a part of CBS Sports Network’s studio coverage around the NFL Draft. He will also be an analyst on the CBSSN weekday program, Inside College Football, this season.”

Better than him coaching somewhere. I think he will still speak highly of LSU at any given point. I mean shite, we paid him enough AND it will look poorly on him if he doesn't.

Good God poor MWC fans have to hear that voice for 3 hours every week.

On the flip side, I'm probably in the minority but I kinda like that Charles Davis/Nessler combo.

Lets be honest, he'll probably do really well at this job. Thats all he was...talk. Please just dont have him call LSU games.

Is it dollar for dollar? If so, why work at all?

The contract stipulates that he must pursue other jobs. It doesn't say he has to take any job offered, but he has to take an active role in pursuing other work.

Please stop using pictures of Kelly on the sideline as LSU’s coach. Maybe cbs has a current picture.

Does his payout get reduced by any amount he's paid for by CBS or any other network?

Good. He sure as hell didn't call games as a coach.

How many players, coaches and fans there will be deemed "spoiled?"

Hopefully, the deal is for $9,500,000 a year.

He will have no idea what any of the player's names are.
