LSU senior cornerback Mansoor Delane officially declared for the NFL Draft on Thursday.

Delane, a 6-0, 190-pound corner from Silver Spring, Md., transferred into LSU last offseason after three years at Virginia Tech. He was voted a unanimous first-team All-American on Thursday. Per LSU:

A transfer from Virginia Tech, Delane quickly made his impact felt for the Tiger defense with an interception and three passes defended in his LSU debut against Clemson. Delane would go on to tally 45 tackles and lead the SEC in passes defended (13) and passes broken up (11).

A starter in 11 games in 2025, Delane made his mark as a lock-down cornerback for the Tigers with opponents rarely throwing in his direction. In 358 pass coverage snaps, Delane allowed just 13 receptions all season for 147 yards and six first downs.

Wasted a future all-pro this season. Thanks for everything Delane! Should sit on the pedestal with all the LSU great DBs.

It would be real cool if he told his little brother at tOSU to hit the portal and come down to LSU.

No surprise there. I was hoping he would stay and help to win a national championship, though.

Thanks for being a Tiger, Delane!

Mansoor out of eligibility in college. But he made the right decision coming to LSU. He played himself into possible top ten pick in draft. Whoever ends up with Mansoor is getting a lockdown corner. Would love to see him in New Orleans.

Loved watching him play in the P&G. Going to have a great career in the league. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the top corner off the board.

Saw a mock draft the other day. He WAS the top CB taken I think at slot 9 in the first round. Cincinnati Bengals maybe...not sure about the team though.

While obviously I would love to have him back to anchor the secondary for 2026, this is the best decision for him and his family. Whatever we paid him in 2025, it wasn't enough. The best CB performance at LSU since PP and, maybe ever.

No more eligibility.

God bless America, people (replacing profanity). Read slowly...Delane...was...a...senior....0.... eligibility... left. I have no idea why articles (not the first time) talk about players declaring for the draft. It is a waste of time to post an article that any knowledgeable person already knows will be the case.

Not sure why people are reacting negative towards OP. I had a similar reaction because Delane is obviously a stud and I'm disappointed to be losing him.
