Former LSU quarterback Walker Howard has transferred from Ole Miss back to his hometown of Lafayette, where he will play for the ULL Ragin’ Cajuns.

Howard signed with the Tigers in 2022 out of St. Thomas More Catholic and appeared in two games with no starts during his freshman season in Baton Rouge. His father, Jamie Howard, was a quarterback at LSU from 1992 to 1995.

Howard transferred to Ole Miss after his freshman year and played in four games over the last two seasons, attempting just six passes.

Hard to believe this guy was the #1 qb in his class.

He wasn't the #1 QB

He was more like no. 5. Allar, Weigman, Klubnik were all ahead of him and all have panned out pretty well. Even Devin Brown (transferring after this year from OSU with no playing g experience), and Ty Simpson (has not played at Bama) we’re ranked ahead of him by some, but those were debatable. He was ahead of Stockton who waited his turn and will now be leading UGA in the playoffs.

Maybe not Weigman yet. Jimbo threw him in early after others injured, and then Weigman kept getting injuries. Jimbo had athletic QBs with arms but wouldn’t adapt offense & kept them as sitting ducks. A&M probably should have tried to rotate him and reed more especially when behind & run game not as effective like against South Carolina and Texas. He has the ability but not sure about drive or mental clarity at times.

More of these guys need to just do this. Stop jumping from one sec, big10 school to another and just go show out at a mid major.

It’s pronounced You-Ell-Ell.
“UL” = Louisville.
“University of Louisiana” = Tulane (1834).

“Ragin’” is a racist pejorative against Cajun persons.

Great! Hopefully, he can find some playing time somewhere. Best of luck to the young man.

What a colossally bad decision to transfer from LSU. He would have been the clear QB2 this year and gotten playing time. Could have been starting next year if Nuss leaves and definitely the year after.

They got a good program and a damn good quarterback coach.
He made this year's quarterback a future n f l player.

SEC too fast for him. Needed a smaller profile league.

UL has a freshman QB from Catholic BR. He started the last game due to the two SRs being injured.
