Just reiterating that Chester will not be Starting ...at center. I know you're not saying He definitely will
Assuming there are no injuries and the incoming transfers grab starting spots, I suspect DJ Chester will take over the starting spot at LG with Paul Mubenga backing him up.
This “Day 3” Depth Chart only reflects my observations from watching various YouTube videos from the news outlets.

Somewhat confusing that there is a SAM & SAF(Star)
Yes, the STAR position will be manned by either a LB (SAM) or a Safety. I am separating them in my Depth Chart because it makes more sense to me to do so in the event that the player has to fill in at another position.
Notably, Austin Ausberry, who took 1st team reps at STAR, was observed practicing with the LBs, and he was the only non-LB to man the Star position in yesterday's team period.

Thought Chester was moved to guard?
He was at RG on Day 1, but they have been swapping a lot of players around on the O-Line to give them different looks.

Gilbert not observed at practice?
Correct.
Additionally, he traveled with the team to the bowl game, but he was not listed on the official Depth Chart. Perhaps he has an undisclosed injury.
ETA: See my update in the OP.
LSU Depth Chart - Spring Day 3 (Updated) [1 image]

I updated my Depth Chart to add walk-ons and to provide additional clarity to the icons.
[Update: Glen West of Geaux247 stated that he observed Safety Jardin Gilbert “off to the side” with other injured players, including Harold Perkins.]

LSU Depth Chart - Spring Day 3 [1 image]

The following observations were made from watching multiple YouTube videos from various reporters.
[Update: I should have added an injury icon for Colin Hurley.]
Notes:
• LSU is preferring incumbent players over incoming transfers during this first week of practice.
• I did not see Safety Jardin Gilbert. An old report stated that he traveled with the team to the bowl game, but he was not listed on the official Depth Chart at that time. Perhaps there is an undisclosed injury.
• The absence of Jardin Gilbert has allowed for Tamarcus Cooley to be one of only 2 incoming transfers to start from Day 1 (DE Jack Pyburn).
• The DE situation is obviously going to take a while to figure out.
• I separate the SAM position from the SAF(star) position, even though it is the same position. I did this because the position can be manned by either a LB or a DB, and it makes sense in my mind to keep them separated in the event that they have to be moved to another spot.
• Safety Austin Ausberry was participating with the Linebackers during group period. He was the only DB to man the Star position.
• The 2nd rotation at WR was unclear in the videos. I spotted Nic Anderson in group drills, but the videos were zoomed in too much for me to see if he was playing the field side WR spot (and I presume he was).
• The boundary side DT position appears to be manned by Nose Tackle body types. This is normal for a 4-3 scheme, but it can be reversed in certain 3-4 Over/Under shifts that only appear to be a 4-3.

LSU Depth Chart (Spring - Day 1) [1 image]

[Edit: On “Morning Scone” Matt Moscona said that Toviano and Cooley were the starting safeties. (image updated)]
This is my best guess at yesterday's Depth Chart.
Jersey numbers have been issued for the new guys.
Not much news from the first day of Spring practice.
• Matt Moscona reported that Josh Thompson is still awaiting graduation at Northwestern before joining LSU later this month.
• Moscona listed the starting 5 OL and mentioned that Carius Curne was already running 2nd team.
• Moscona said Stamps and Delane started at CB.
• Colin Hurley is not at school right now due to his accident, therefore, he is not practicing with the team.
• Former SAF/RB, Ju'juan Johnson, has been moved to QB.
• RB Trey Holly is scheduled to stand trial beginning July 7.

Why do I want to see All three weeks brother at the Sam Will and Mike Simultaneously?
Well that's probably due to our human propensity to appreciate a good story line, or, otherwise, our survival skill of recognizing patterns.
It would be pretty cool to see for a drive.
• SAM = Whit Weeks
• MIKE = Zach Weeks
• WILL = West Weeks

You buried [Paul Mubenga] in the depth chart, my question is why?
It's just a guess. I don't think it is unlikely that Mubenga will start out as the #2 LG; I just think there are other guys who are more likely to get the start. Perhaps the coaching staff will want to see what their new toys (i.e., Carius Curne and Solomon Thomas) can do.
I would rank the following G/C players according to their likelihood of starting:
1. Braelin Moore
2. Josh Thompson
3. DJ Chester
4. Bo Bordelon
5. Paul Mubenga
6. Carius Curne
LSU Depth Chart - Spring Preview [1 image]

Here is my prediction of the LSU Depth Chart for Day 1 of Spring Training.
Obviously, your guess is as good as mine.
Notes:
• It should be noted that if I were predicting a Game 1 Depth Chart, then things might be a bit different here.
• We have seen that BK likes to have an upperclassman in the starting spot during the Spring, even if he has to share reps with a younger guy that might eventually supplant him. For this reason alone I do not expect a single true freshman to start on Day 1 of Spring Training.
• In my previous post-portal preview I listed all incoming transfers in the 2nd slots of their respective positions. This time I'm taking a guess.
Updates:
• Player Class and Experience columns have been updated as best as can be predicted.
• All On3 Industry ratings have been updated for incoming freshmen and transfers.
• H/W has been updated for incoming freshmen, according to LSUsports.net, but I had to click on players' links individually for more recent information than what was posted in the Signing Class overview page.
Notable Battles:
• [RB] Kaleb Jackson better prove it and prove it fast. Harlem Berry is going to get some of his reps, but will he take all of them?
• [WR] It's hard to imagine that Nic Anderson wouldn't take one of the starting spots. But people have been talking about him being a "deep threat," and that threat usually comes from the boundary, where Chris Hilton Jr. currently plays.
• [TE] I suspect that Bauer Sharp might end up getting the nod instead of Trey'Dez Green, but I cannot imagine Green not at least sharing in 1st Team reps.
• [OL] Carius Curse and Solomon Thomas have been the only OL mentioned to potentially contend for playing time in 2025. Thomas was specifically listed as "Tackle" on LSUsports.net.
• [DE] The two DE spots are going to be a slugfest this Spring. Perhaps Gabriel Reliford will move to the strong side (DEf) to allow for Patrick Payton to start as an edge rusher.
• [LB] The battle at MIKE should be good as well, but I expect West Weeks to take the first reps on Day 1. Davhon Keys could just as easily backup Perkins at SAM.
• [SAF] People have been predicted Tamarcus Cooley as a Day 1 starter at Safety. He will have to compete with Dashawn Spears at that spot, because the Star position is probably going to give way to Harold Perkins at SAM.

Obviously, your guess is as good as mine.

LSU Depth Chart Update [1 image]
Posted by Scotcho Libre on 1/16/25 at 2:05 pm
Now that the portal window is winding to a close, I wanted to update my Depth Chart.
Notes:
• Grad students may enter the transfer portal at any time.
• Incoming transfers are inserted into the #2 slots at their respective positions.
• This is not my prediction of a starting lineup or position changes.
• No news on John Emery, so I left him on the Depth Chart.
If you notice any oversights on my part, please let me know.

LSU Depth Chart (observed) - Texas Bowl [2 images]
Posted by Scotcho Libre on 1/4/25 at 12:38 pm
Below you will find two different LSU Depth Charts for the Texas Bowl vs. Baylor.
1. My personal Depth Chart, which I have adjusted after watching the game.
• Positions are ordered according to order of appearance.
• Players who played multiple positions are slotted according to first appearance and do not appear multiple times.
2. An official Depth Chart that was posted on Twitter before the game.
Notes:
• Red Highlight = 2024 Redshirt

Updated: Thanks for your assistance, everyone.
Notes:
• Green = Incoming Transfers
• Purple = Incoming Freshmen
• Red = Redshirt
• I have chosen to place this first wave of incoming transfers in the #2 slots at their respective positions.
• Incoming transfers are listed with their On3 industry average transfer rating, instead of their ratings coming out of high school.
• LSU signed Silas Hall (walk on?) to snap the ball on Special Teams, but I cannot find much information on him.
Predictions:
• DJ Chester may move to RG, allowing Braelin Moore (if he commits) to step into the starting C role.
• Gabriel Reliford may split time at both SDE with Jimari Butler and WDE with Kolaj Cobbins.
• DJ Pickett might start at CB in Game 1 with PJ Woodland starting at Nickel/Dime.
• With Harold Perkins at SAM, Javien Toviano may split reps Jardin Gilbert at Boundary Safety.
What are your predictions?
