While speaking at the Baton Rouge Rotary Club this week, LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke about the Tigers' week 1 matchup vs. Clemson and referred to the team's stadium as “Death Valley Jr.”

On Thursday, Clemson defensive end TJ Parker was asked at ACC Media Days about Kelly's comments:

If that is what Clemson needs to get them ready for the real Tigers then so be it. It’s not going to change anything about the scheme or make anyone better or worse. They are all well aware of what’s coming. It’s going to be a battle, regardless of any comment or lack of. Who cares? If Clemson needs more fuel for the game then they’ve already lost. He’s talking to Louisiana folks, hyping them up for the game. The fans and media play into it but the guys playing on the field are well aware this is going to be a real dog fight so may the best team win. Can’t wait for the game.

Guys. It was at a rotary club meeting. Come on. Take the seriousness down a bit.

Kelly needs to win one season opener before giving other teams locker room material.

For a guy that hasn't won jack shite, much less an opening day game at LSU, Brian Kelly sure talks a lot of smack.

Dumb comment on BK part. Totally unneeded.

One could say the same about every post you've ever made on this board.

Hope this doesn’t work out like the “sissy blue shirts” comment.

I don’t like giving kids on the other team reason to be amped up but if you’re going to talk shite, at least be good at it. He always looks so uncomfortable and out of his element doing it.
We HAVE to win this first game, otherwise I think there’s going to be a flipped switch among the fan base.

He was just saying the obvious. But it's not going to have any bearing on the outcome of the game, so stop wringing your hands folks. The best prepared and talented team will win.

Personally not a fan of this comment. Kinda like Michigan's "little brother" comment about MSU years ago that didnt turn out well.

Clemson’s stadium capacity 81,500, The Real Death Valley 102,321!! ?? Annually Ranked as the Hardest/Loudest College Football Venues:

1. Tiger Stadium (LSU) – “Death Valley”
   •   Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
   •   Capacity: 102,321
   •   Known for: Night games, deafening crowd noise, and wild atmosphere.
   •   Notable: ESPN once named it the scariest place to play at night. The stadium has registered decibel levels over 130 dB, comparable to a jet engine.

He played his trump card and we're not in camp, Ok. ( the term 'trump' has no political connotations.)

a lot of BK fatigue in the comments and we haven’t passed game one yet. Gotta love this fanbase.

MBB - LSU (1) , Clem (0)
WBB - LSU (1), Clem (0)
Base - LSU (8), Clem (0)
M Golf - LSU (5), Clemson (1)

Don't blame him for defending his team...however, most college football fans outside of northwest south carolina know where the real death valley is.
