Four-star cornerback Jaylen Bell announced Friday that he has de-committed from LSU.

Bell, a 5-11, 160-pound prospect from Loganville, Ga. (Grayson High School), committed to LSU back in November of 2022.

His departure leaves LSU with nine verbal commitments for the class of 2025.

I do wish these kids would just take ownership when they change their minds. I doubt any higher power has any say in the matter. Man gives into temptation freely enough on his own.

Kid got processed. What ownership do you want him to take in a choice that wasn’t his?

You know this how?

More respect if a kid said.... "After a lot of thought and discussion with my family, I've decided to decommit from LSU and explore better NIL opportunities".

He’s not a highly rated kid , I doubt anybody’s running to throw him NIL money when majority of the ‘25 class is still available

To Blame your lack of chest on God… quite Calvinistic

PROCESSED. New coaching staff is evaluating it's current commits before signing day.

Have you seen our secondary? There is zero chance we processed a 4 star corner. Stop with this lazy garbage trashing players

Not a 4* corner (except for rivals??), and a kid that is a junior in high school today has no impact on our secondary in 2024.

He’s not a 4 star and he’s tiny and the 2025 secondary class is loaded. Your post is lazy garbage

He dropped in the 2025 On3 recruiting rankings from being the #43 CB to being the #55 CB. Not that this was a deciding factor from either him or from LSU, but LSU already has the #7 CB committed for 2025.

This isn't NIL. He is a 3 star player across all services.

Does anyone tell these kids that “respect my decision” makes them sound like an entitled douche?

I suspect that any high school athlete who call themselves "Hollywood" will be an entitled douche.

Maybe he knows something that we don't? (Bussey to BR)

Not shocking, he has been committed since 2022. Kids tend to change their minds as they get older. Good luck to him.

Its hard to take a commitment serious unless its within 6 months of their signing date.

Well since God said so I’ll have to respect it

The takes on this forum are insane. When a 3 star DB commits, the sky is falling. When a 3 star DB de commits, he is a selfish kid chasing NIL money. The truth is he is an out of state kid who committed to the previous defensive staff. Now that the new staff is in place he was more than likely “processed.” 2 months ago the #1 safety in the 2025 class was not making visits to LSU. We are recruiting at a high level with the chance at landing the #1 class. The kid probably saw the writing on the wall, and decided to go somewhere else. I truly wish him all the best.

Exactly. At least let the kid save some face by making it seem like his choice. People should know this by now.

We need all the help we can get in the secondary. Hate to see him decommit. But it happens, especially in the NIL world we live now. Hopefully LSU can get him back or find somebody equal or better. As lacking in secondary as we are, this kids should know they have a very good chance at playing immediately

I use to really follow recruiting. I don’t bother any more.

Don’t blame your inability to make a commitment on God. That’s just being pretentious.

The way the 25 class is rolling, no telling if he was asked to explore other opportunities (meaning higher commits coming), he liked the old secondary coach, or he was to be close to home.

I don’t care where he winds up. LSU will be fine. That said, respect my decision should get him kicked in the dick.
