Local running back Reid Chauvin from Episcopal School of Baton Rouge officially signed with LSU on Tuesday as a preferred walk-on.

The 5-9, 195-pound back is also a powerlifter that can squat 600 pounds and bench press 375 pounds.

Chauvin was offered as PWO the Sunday after the Vanderbilt game last season. He said he had been committed to LSU for over a month and made things official this week.

Lester Earl will be coming on here soon to say he sucks and he’ll never see the field at LSU since he’s white.

While i don't care what race anybody is for any job, wouldn't yall be calling this kid a DEI recruit for his position? According to the DEI police, black people, hispanics, and women aren't smart enough, and white dudes aren't athletic enough. According to the DEI Gestapo

Lester Earl only speaks for and only speaks for Lester
Earl. Jacob Hester is one of the favorite LSU players, ALL TIME, for many people that look like Lester Earl. Don’t assume everyone that looks like him think like him. Just sayin!

5-9, 195-pounds , squats 600 pounds and bench press 375 pounds ????

Right now he seems kind of small for a fullback but that would seem like a good position for him. Is he really fast?

4000 yards and 63Tds in high school does not equate to DEI… give the guy a chance to prove himself

Since he isn't getting a scholly, what is there to sign?

Roster spot on the 105 list. Also PWOs get some priority on schollys that open up. Will be moot if they go to the 105 scholly limit.

Don't know if it will translate to playing time but if he stays at LSU for four or five years he will be a tank.

Right. Part of why I said he could be the next Josh Williams. Josh was like 190 as a freshman and got up to 210 or so. Though at times I thought Josh was too bulky.
