and you're giving him an extra loss for 2025. I guess if you're just making shite up, you can believe anything you want.

Yes, that sucks. lol
Chicken and Egg, end of list

Oxford has great saltwater fishing
He doesn’t have to sign to stay at Ole Miss. He can just work under his same contract
Nobody should trust Lane fully right now. LOL

re: OM will go broke with Kiffin

Those schools only go broke if the donors cut them off. I suspect winning fixes a lot of problems

Not if he’s winning

I guess that’s where we differ. You think he will win enough to merit a top 5 salary I assume? I don’t think he will do any better than Kelly and likely will do a little worse. Of course we won’t know until it plays out.

I feel like the only guy on this board that thinks Drink would be great at LSU. I think he is a good enough coach to have a lot of success here. Hell nobody thought much of Miles when he arrived. I also think Drink is just goofy enough like Miles and would love our culture and fit right in. I guess Im the only one that thinks it could work.

I don’t think Drinkwitz is a bad coach. He’s a decent football coach, but money does factor in. I’m sure our donors won’t be too excited if in 3-4 years we have to pay another 50 million or so. If he becomes our coach I think it’s a big mistake, but I’ll support him of course. I just don’t think he is anywhere near a top 5 coach and that’s what he will want.
You have been defending Drinkwitz because of his coaching record. I have no major issues with him there. It’s Mizzou and he has done mostly what he can. He is not a bad football coach at all although maybe goofy. I just don’t think he is a top 5 coach. It’s a matter of pricing himself out of the market. I’d rather take a cheaper on the rise coach we can cut bait with easily.
You get into +11 million and you are almost in Ryan Day territory. You know he will ask for a huge buyout too. Drinkwitz is the 11th highest paid coach now and after LSU likely top 5. Crazy, lol
Kids are almost grown and out of the house, lol. They can live wherever they want.
Not F, Drinkwitz wants to be paid like a top 4-5 coach. Forget him, he’s priced himself out.
I’d take Lane for that over Drinkwitz who wants nearly the same salary. Drinkwitz will likely want 11 million a year.

I’d try to find gratitude in the situation in which I find myself. Then do what’s best for my family.

That’s exactly what I would do and probably why we will never be as rich as Lane. To be in coaching at his level you have to be self centered for the amount of time you are away from your family. You have to be ok with not seeing your kids grow up. I couldn’t do that.

I would bet my last dollar that Kiffin is lsu only target. This is exactly how we ended up with O and will probably end up with Wilson .

That’s laughable if it’s true. You would think Verge would have learned something from the last 2 lazy searches.

How many times are you going to post this?

As many times as it takes for people to understand this guy isn’t worth the top 5 salary and big buyout he will ask for. Drinkwitz isn’t Ryan Day.

It hasn’t even started yet. Kids today have the perseverance and attention span of a gnat.

Yep, we are just getting started boys. Hold on for the next few weeks, lol

I'd say an employeer has the right to make you decide quicker than stringing everyone along choose and move on it's a big decision but sometimes people need a push

Are they going to fire Lane if he just does nothing? I have to admit that would be something to see.
quote:

He won't need that long. We're at the point in the process where this thing is getting resolved one way or another within 48 hours

I don’t believe there are any deadlines. Lane has a contract already. He doesn’t have to do anything. What is Ole Miss going to do? Fire their best coach in the last 50 years? lol, no way
quote:

He did add one bit of news that's not shocking in the least ( we all know how this firing and search have been run) , but still a little discouraging to hear. Namely, LSU has no back up plan. It's all in for CLK and then figure it out later if this ends up being a Jimmy Sexton special.

Verge would have to be an idiot not to learn from past experience that he needs to conduct a thorough search with multiple back up coaching options.
