LSU head coach Matt McMahon revealed that two-sport athlete Trey'Dez Green is stepping away from the team to focus on academics and could rejoin the team later.

McMahon said the decision was made after a recent meeting with football head coach Brian Kelly.

Green joined the basketball team shortly after the football season ended but has still been participating in offseason workouts with the football team.

Clearly he couldn't go to school and handle the workload of being a 2 sport athlete. No need to risk his football eligibility for bball.

Yes. They do. Do they take the hardest classes and choose rigorous majors? Usually no. But they do take tests, you moron.

Here’s how the meeting went.
BK - the basketball team sucks and I don’t want you getting some stupid injury on a bad team so lets focus on football for your future.

“ You’re not going to class, you’re failing all of the simplest of courses, and you’re not going to bring down this basketball team any further than we already are, so we need you to take a break from the team”

I’m guessing Kelly talked some sense into him about playing on a non competitive team and risking the whole football season on a competitive team.

I did better in college when I had less time.

Yall really think this is about grades? This is about what’s the point of risking injury for a basketball team that has nothing to play for and focusing on football. College first ?? football second ???
user avatar
LSUtiger899 months
That was suppose to be two fingers after the college first and one finger after football second.

More free time does not equate to better grades.

If I was CBK, I’d be more concerned with injury. Again though, I’m not sure more free time equates to less injury risk either.
