Carson Beck's decision to enter the transfer portal on Thursday caught many off guard but CBS Sports writers revealed that tension between Beck and Georgia had been rising over the last month.

His draft prospects were at a low point, it didn’t look like he was in sync with the offense this year and Miami offered him a big check. None of this should shock anyone in NIL era CFB and I doubt UGA is surprised or overly concerned about him leaving.

This seems pretty revision honestly. He had a significant injury on the precipice of declaring for the NFL draft. He SHOULD have prioritized getting good medical advice and pursuing surgery. I find it hard to believe Georgia would be “miffed” by him prioritizing his actual physical health stemming from a football injury to “hanging around” during bowl season practices.

The real answer here is that UGA wanted to move on from Beck because he’s not a great alpha, and if they brought him back Stockton would leave as well and they’d be left with potentially damaged goods in a post-recovery Beck
