If they were in the SEC they'd be 3rd in the East, at best, and would have lost to UGA by 30 in the regular season. Georgia is the team that got screwed, not FSU.

I'm not an FSU or Kanell fan by any means, but he is absolutely correct in this case.

Nothing against Georgia because I think they would have beat a full-strength FSU anyway, but Georgia did not play anything close to resembling the regular season FSU team.

Again, no love for FSU/Kanell, but I would be salty as hell also if I were a nole fan.

Reminds me too much of 2004 Auburn (yes, I know there are many differences in the two situations).

Why should FSU fans be so salty? It’s not just the injury to Travis. What the Travis injury did was to force a deeper look into the teams by the committee, rightfully so. The FSU gripe is that they were undefeated Conference Champs. Ok so what about the other once defeated Conference Champs? Texas and Alabama? Texas had a razor thin loss to their main rival who was decent this year and has the second best win of the season vs Bama.

Alabama had a loss to a top tier team they were leading in the 4th quarter and had the best win of the CFB season as well as another top tier win against Ole Miss as well, two wins much better than FSU’s best win who Bama also beat. FSU simply didn’t have any answer for this and a very suspect overall strength of schedule. Now most years FSU would have still walked into the playoffs but this year’s dynamics precluded that. Texas and Bama BOTH had equal or better cases to be made when the FSU undefeated season was suspect based off their schedule. Sorry but the Travis injury had some bearing on things but it by no means was all that was considered either.

FSU had a chance to show they belonged in the conversation. They should have declined the bowl invitation if they felt so strongly. They proved themselves to be whores for the paycheck and put some kids who had no business playing against Georgia in a potentially dangerous situation, certainly humiliating. Danny’s anger is because he’s humiliated and looking for something or someone else to blame it on.

The players decided not to play the game, because they were told in front of the whole world that their other 12 games didn’t matter. If the other 12 didn’t matter, why does this one?

They had more athletes and talent than FCS teams that come into tiger stadium and I doubt you cry about the “dangerous situation”. They are scholarship athletes, not toddlers.

If Florida state had a culture like Georgia all their players would have played to prove they belong. It’s been a decade since F.S. put itself back on the map.
I’m an LSU fan and love that BK has 21 starters back for what Danny says is meaningless games. Must mean something to those guys.

Uga had no opt outs and FSU had 20. That should tell you something about where each of those programs are, regardless of the outcome if that game.
