Emmitt Smith Has Really Great Moment With His Family After His Son Doesn't Pick Florida
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
Son of Hall of Fame Cowboys RB Emmitt Smith, EJ, committed to Stanford on Wednesday over his father's alma mater Florida. When asked about that by ESPN, Emmitt gave this amazing answer...

Well said. EJ is a 5-foot-11, 199-pound recruit, the No. 3 all-purpose back in the 2020 class and the No. 23 senior in the state of Texas.

I like Emmitt and always have, but what decent dad wouldn't say the exact same thing? Where's the big story here?

It's Stanford. Kid, get in there, building those Silicon Valley connections, maybe do a startup and you're good to go.

Stanford University was named after Leland Stanford so it’s accurate to say he picked LSU over Florida.

Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders are two of the best. Oh, and they were pretty good at football too.

A class act, wish there were more like Emmitt.

Emmitt was good but no where near the talent of Barry Sanders.

Not to mention, it is Stanford. Phenomenal academic school. If he applies himself, that is a great education to have in case football is not his endgame.
