When I saw the replay of the Mike Mathews penalty for this
I figured he just made a mistake, got too excited. Then I saw this, which happened in the first half, and realized Mathews was giving the Gumps payback hahahah

That wasn't even a particularly vicious crack-back block. Sucks they are "cracking" down on those blind-side hits. Having been on the both the giving and receiving side of those in HS, it really makes you have your head on a swivel next time. Business decisions will be made. Field awareness will improve for that young man. Life lessons were learned. I don't see how a player trying to make a tackle is "defenseless". And if you just get in their way like they want you to now....you are going to get blasted by a player running full speed.

Illegal blindside block? UT receiver was right in front of him. I guess you can be blindsided by not paying attention and not being aware of your surroundings.

The Bama really came out of McElroy on the call. He called the Tennessee player dumb like 4 times. Nothing wrong with that block.
