Gary Danielson has been calling SEC games on CBS since he joined the network in 2006 alongside Verne Lundquist. With that has come a lot of criticism from SEC fans. What is his response to it?...
quote:

"College football is a game of opinion and they don’t like you saying bad stuff about their teams,” Danielson said, (first transcribed by Saturday Down South).

“I guess that’s number one. The emergence of Twitter, I feel bad not for me, I played NFL quarterback, and I can handle that."

“It has never bothered me, but it bothers me that my crew doesn’t get as much notoriety, for what I think, of our part of the SEC gaining a bigger stature in college football,” he said. “… I want people to say, ‘I miss CBS.'”

Interviewer: "Gary, are the rumors true?"

Gary: "No, they are not. I did not suck Nick Saban's dick on the 50 yard line. It was in the lockerroom."

Interviewer: "We were actally asking about rumors you might retire."

Gary is very good. Todd Blackledge, in my opinion, is the best in the business.

I will miss having another network with a dedicated SEC game. I won't miss CBS. I won't miss the shitty time slot.

Danielson is one of the best analysts in the business. He knows exactly what and WHY things happen, even before we see a replay.

But he might now suck off LSU so you are not allowed to say anything nice about him on TD.

Frig that guy. I turn down volume on tv and listen to radio broadcast. He is that bad.

Never realized how close his eyeballs are to each other. Was a parent a cyclops?

I’ll miss Gary / I actually liked him. Very knowledgeable

He can be opinionated and tends to be biased for one team and talks about them too much, especially if they are the hot team. I think that is true for most broadcasters though.
To me the most important guy is the other guy in the seat.

Nobody's going to miss you, Gary. No one. Know what everyone's lamenting? The SEC on CBS theme.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Gary. Can’t wait until you are Geauxing

Gary is the same goober he’s always been, but now that “Uncle Fern” is finally out of my life, I choose to find Gary amusing rather than irritating tbh. Brad Nessler cancels Gary out too imo

I miss the little bit of football sandwiched between extended commercial breaks.

He never stops talking when doing a game. He talks just to talk. Can't stand him.
