Let’s beat Arkansas Saturday and revisit these stats. This will be the D’s first true test.

Agree. The total offense of our opponents rank:
80/115/121/123

UAB actually has the highest.

We are good but need to not lose perspective.

Dawgs haven't played anyone with an offense. Let's see what happens this coming Saturday.

Let's hold off until we play the hogs this weekend. I do believe this is very good team, but not tested enough to call it a great team.

Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, or Kyle Trask ain’t walking through that east end zone tunnel at 12:00.

Those are the only 3 QBs to score over 30 on Lanning/Kirby defense

KJ Jefferson ain’t that guy either. Bout to be a 2017 Mississippi St all over again.

Just said this to my buddy at lunch. He's thinking Arkansas will keep it close until the very end, but I'm feeling massive 2017 MSU vibes with this game. Just wish we could have had a night kick.

Careful. I mentioned this and a couple of folks didn't like my negative attitude.

While I agree, there's something to the eye test that gives me confidence. Our defense has been absolutely smothering. They are big, physical, and fast. That's not going to change, regardless who the opponent is.

I'm feeling good about this weekend, especially with getting Washington back in the lineup to complement Bowers and the rest of our receivers.

Everyone is talking about the defense, but I'm also excited to see how good the offense can be.

Highest YPP in the Smart era.

Next 4 games are definitely going to be a level up from the first 4.

We'll see if we're really a title contender.

KJ Jefferson is going to be a handful with his ability to escape pressure and turn would-be sacks into first downs. He throws really well too. He's like the dollar store version of Cam Newton. They run him in designed QB keepers like a RB very often. Our defense hasn't faced this sort of challenge yet. The best way to prep would be to have poor Stet on the scout team this week, or possibly BVG with his arm and wheels.

I don't think we lose, but I don't think we are going to shut this team out. Unless KJ's knee is still hurt. If the backup comes in, yeah we shut them down convincingly.

He may not be but Burks is probably better than Vann and Arkansas can run the ball. I still think Georgia rolls to a 38-10 type game but it'll be an uncomfortable first 3 quarters.

KJ in the game gives us the ability to pass. That part of the offense was in question early on and I suppose still is to some degree but we should have a decent passing game now. As you note this is most likely not the case with the back up playing. If we end up in a one dimensional running game offense we are in trouble. Our Oline is good but won’t be able to manhandle the Georgia Dline like we did with Texas, for example, where the running backs had chunks of yardage. Too many three and outs and a tired defense because we don’t have the personnel that y’all do and we will be done. That is why they have to have a balanced attack while milking as much clock as they can to be able to stay in the game. And of course eliminate penalties and turnovers.
