Our schedule is hard enough that we don't need to make it harder.

Our OOC opponents are GT, Nicholls State, and ULL. Our SECW opponent is Ole Miss.

We get GT, AU, and UT at home.

I do like the ATL game vs UNC, but not because I'm afraid of SOS.

at ole miss. And we have auburn.

We also have @SC, @mizz, UT, and UF.

We need to be one of the top 4 teams in teh country after the first week in december. That will include an SECCG win against a team presumably in the top 6 or 7.

There is simply NO reason whatsoever to tack on another premier opponent on top of all that. Do you think people care right now that UF doesn't ever play anyone hard OOC besides their in state rival? Nah, they probably just remember they won the national title twice in 3 years.

What WG said. Add in that we play an SEC schedule plus Tech. We don't need any big name OOC.

Ok, got it. Since we are in the SEC, you guys don't ever want tough OOC games. Our SEC schedule in 2016 is average at best compared to what we're used to. Our OOC is shite, UNC does help some.

Personally I'd like a chance to prove ourselves OOC more than maybe once at the end of the season. Yeah nobody likes to lose, but if you win the SEC, you're pretty much a lock for the playoffs anyways. A OOC loss does not hurt as much as it used to. I'll admit, doesn't help as much either but it sure is more exciting than playing cupcakes and a ACC bottom feeder.

It's just really difficult to schedule one game against a prominent OOC team. We're playing ND in 2017 and 2019. You can't ask for a whole lot more than that. Plus GT. I wasn't overly thrilled with UNC, but I'm not disappointed with it either. It's about the best you can expect.

Not what they stated.

Nothing wrong with a tough OOC game, but there is no reason to go overboard.

Then why on earth should be play a stronger OOC? The risk reward is not worth it.

Our SEC schedule is average and OOC is shite. They still feel no need for a tough OOC opponent, so the logical conclusion is that they never do. I'd be curious to know what kind of schedule would warrant a strong OOC opponent.

I already covered that:

Our schedule would get pretty boring if we never played quality OOC opponents in the regular season. Are you not looking forward to 2017 and 2019?

Personally, I'd like the chance to win a National Championship. Go look at the schedules of the SEC teams that have won the last 10 years and then tell me which ones played two Power 5 teams.

The BCS is not a thing anymore. It's pretty easy to get into the natty if you win the SECCG. An OOC loss won't stop you. If you have that loss and another, you don't deserve the natty anyways.

Maybe when the playoffs expand to 8 teams you'll come to realize that regular season W-L is not as important as it used to be.

And at being afraid of GT and UNC.

Who's afraid of this? I'm all for this game if you'd read my first post in the thread instead of assuming things.

So instead of comparing schedules of past winners you're going to stick to the same crap that playing a tough OOC schedule's the way to go. Cool.

You just finished saying nobody wins a natty playing "2 Power 5" opponents. This includes GT and UNC.

I just want to win in the Georgia Dome. Haven't fared so well in there of late. Last win was SECCG in '05.

Sorry, you did say SEC and not Natty. Regardless, correlation does not equal causation. I also revert to my statement that you again seem to be uninterested in ever playing a quality OOC opponent with our current SEC + GT rotation. It would be a sad state of affairs if our AD agreed with you. Fortunately with Clemson and ND as evidence, they don't.
