While this is how it should be, it's not how it actually is. The truth is, W-L is the most important (not the only) factor with rankings.

The people on this board probably know UGA better than most voters. We read about the team daily, study the team, players, recruits, coaches, etc. Do you think the pollsters go into that depth on every single team they rank? They don't have anywhere near enough time to do that. Hell, my guess is your average voter probably only watches a couple UGA games per year, if that. They just don't know how we win and lose. They don't know that we're probably the worst 3 loss team in the nation and there are plenty of 4 (or more) loss teams that are better than us.

Maybe we got bumped up because we're a better team without Richt :dunno:

We don't deserve to be ranked. Well, to be honest, I haven't even looked at the other teams. But if we're one of the top 25 teams in the country, the entire country is down.

I think it's been asked twice in this thread already with no response...but does anybody have any valid sources on Muschamp going to USCjr? The closest I can find is this:

Spurrier turned USCjr from a pimple in the SEC to a true contender. He struggled, sure, but consider the circumstances. That school was a perrenial bottom-feeder in the SEC.

If CJP were to go there and spend a few years turning their program around, he'd start to get serious looks from elite schools for a HC position. As DC at UGA, that's going to be very difficult. Hell, it's one of the most common reasons we eliminate candidates over here "nah, let him prove himself somewhere else first".
