Is UNC really anything different then a normal OOC game outside of name and venue. They suck now and have a good chance of being gutted between now and then.

He said Florida. lol.

But anyways, do you actually know how many of the top SEC schools (UGA, UF, UT, AU, AL, LSU) actually played two Power 5 schools over the last 10 years? Without that number, your argument doesn't really mean anything. If UF was the only school that played two Power 5 teams out of them, then this argument of yours would look pretty bad.

No, I don't know what the number is either. I don't feel like spending the next 20 minutes figuring it out.

No. But that's not what I'm arguing. Others want big name, top teams to play. I'm cool with the UNCs and Purdues of the world. I don't want Oregon, Michigan State right now.

Honestly it's hard to figure out with how much you're waffling, but I'm pretty sure you think if you play two Power 5 schools, you won't win the SEC. Florida did it in 2008 as already pointed out to you. Maybe somebody else did, maybe not. Shitty argument regardless and I've already spent way too much time on it.

I would love a shot at beating Oregon or Ohio State or Florida State? I get it would be so much better to win a natty beating them but how cool would it be beating Oregon in Atlanta for a kickoff game then beating Alabama gor SECCG anf then beating Ohio state for a natty? Along with an sec schedule u couldn't tell me that wouldn't be awesome. Pretty tough but if we got the team we should beat anyone. I love the fact we are playing better teams OOC

And Florida had the best team in 2008 they would have beaten anyone that year. If we have a natty caliber team we should embrace playing good teams.

I'm not waffling. Your reading comprehension sucks and you're making assumptions.

Still can't believe we lost to those fricks last year. You guys should decimate them. The UNC defense is always such garbage. Their O can score some points, though.

Translate for me:

Personally, I'd like the chance to win a National Championship. Go look at the schedules of the SEC teams that have won the last 10 years and then tell me which ones played two Power 5 teams.

How many teams from the SEC that won the National Championship played 2 Power 5 teams the year they won?

Edit: during the BSC era.

It's already been answered. Just one of the seven.

Well...aside from name and venue what else could possibly change about an opponent?

-venue is an upgrade over any other, as the CFA KO game has become a huge national stage the last several years.
-It's a "name" OOC team from the ACC

Did bama get punished for beating mediocre clemson or vt teams in that game? No, nobody cares, all people say is "bama jumpstarted their season by beating an ACC team in the dome". And now we can do the same.

I think the concern in this thread is this isn't an auto win like Buffalo or someone like that.

Do you think we never play a good OOC Schedule? GT, OK State, Colorado, Notre Dame, Clemson, Boise (When they were one of the top teams)...I would say those are some pretty interesting games against some pretty good teams. Not GREAT....but who plays a great OOC team? Tennessee played Oregon....but that's as far as I get. I would say we do a pretty good job with the scheduling. Besides...when you schedule 3-4 years in advance you don't know what kind of team someone will have. A great team today might be mediocre (at best) in 3-4 years) A mediocre team today might be very good in 3-4 years.

I wonder what you were saying in 09/10/11 after starting the season with an early season OOC loss? Yeah it's fun to look at the schedule and see a school you recognize, but there simply isn't any justifiable reason to schedule them.

If they are that good, we will play them in the playoffs.

It would be a great game to see as a fan. As a player? They would increase their risk of getting hurt. How great would it be to play one fo those teams and see an Eason, or Chubb or Godwin get hurt in it? Then not have a shot at a NC? Then we would be saying we should have protected our players. Years ago colleges played 11 regular season games, and 1 Bowl game if they were good. Now they play 12 regular season games, a Conference Championship game and now two playoff games if they win the Natty. 15 games compared to 12. Your body gets beat to death like that.

I realize you are talking about 2016, but in 2015 we will be playing Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and if we win our division another Top 5 team (probably) for the SECC then two more top 4 teams in the playoffs. That's a tough task to ask of a body. No wonder so many kids get beat up so badly.
