So apparently Geoff Collins read his speech notes off a cup at GACA Coaches luncheon

Kirby Smart took the stage on his turn shortly thereafter said “WelI, I don’t have a Waffle House cup to read off of.”

Professionally, Geoff is below the line...

I don't know how anyone takes that man seriously. He's such a goober.

He’s a good football coach but his whole persona screams “I’m not cut out to be anywhere bettter than a GT level program”

Dude is a high school football head coach trying to act like what he thinks a college head coach would act like.

fricker is Butch Jones part deux...

Butch won 9 at Tennessee. If Jeouff did that, they'd build a Waffle House state out front for him.

Of course Kirby was kidding, but Collins’ doesn’t need his speech written down - he’s literally said the same 5 things over and over every single time he’s been in front of a mic since he took over.
The red thread in the GT community is that UGA is ‘scared’ of GT and Collins’ improvements in recruiting, and that UGA has been knee-jerk trying to ‘take back Atlanta’ from GT.
But we know in reality the two programs at this point in time at least, are a million miles apart. Collins has improved GT recruiting, which is good for UGA (right now that game is completely useless for UGA, no benefit and another opportunity to get someone hurt before the SECCG).
But the level of overall talent he’s bringing in is significantly below what UGA is pulling, which this year was 10 of the top 60 players in the country. And while their fanbase continues to hurl insults at UGA for not winning the natty or the toughest conference in the country, they are just trying to not lose to FCS teams right now. Even a bowl game looks sketchy for them over the next two seasons. Of course they are undergoing the BIGGEST TRANSFORMATION IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL according to their head coach.
Certainly Kirby is smart enough to pay attention to GT and what they are doing, but he’s a long, long way from worried about them right now.

They're all just so insecure. I've honestly stopped "hating" the bad Tech fans because of how sad it can get most of time. The only thing keeping Tech from becoming totally irrelevant is our game with them. If we just moved on and told them to frick off, they would fall off the CFB map more than they already have.

Right... they sign one single 4 star guy, a pretty low 4 star at that... and their attitude is "We're Back, Baby!"

one single 4 star guy
To be fair he’s a pretty solid looking back. But agree, it’s not like they just signed Calvin Johnson again.
It will be interesting is they can make the island of misfit toys linemen they’ve assembled from the portal work. They’ve certainly got more size but we’ll see what their coach can do with it.
For all the crap Kirby has taken for in game coaching, Collins and company didn’t look any better at any point last year coaching in game.
And he keeps doing stupid things like the pushups and the juice crew dances and the money confetti with his own f’n picture on it. That stuff has to get old, especially when you are getting your brains kicked in.

Actually, five 4-stars
LINK
Are we top 10? No. Our class comes in at 26. However, that is a tremendous swing upwards compared to the past decade and all indicators suggest that the trend will continue. It’s now a question of what Collins will do with the talent once it’s in place. That is to be seen as this past year was a pretty poor metric based on the transition from Johnson’s TO to Collins’ offensive strategy. Let’s see how it plays out.
EDIT: we also added two 4-star grad transfers
