Wouldn't surprise me at all... still not an excuse for losing to fricking Vandy

Maybe Kirby needs to go all Charlie Strong on the malcontents. Seemed to work for him.
edit: for the humor challenged - that was sarcasm

I find it hard to believe anyone that can't spell Michel correctly has a solid inside source.

How so?

Strong is likely out of a job, come the end of the season. But I agree with showing the malcontents the door is they're trying to derail the team.

I doubt they're trying to derail the team. I do think there's likely been some big changes in what the expectations are, and that could rub some of the older players the wrong way. The younger players don't really know any different.
ETA: I suspect there will be a good bit of graduate transfer type situations this winter/spring.

It wouldn't shock me to see the culture change hit some of the older guys harder. I'd put money on there being a distinct waarm-fuzzy shortage in the locker room.

Seems like the term "Loyalists" would be more applicable for both. I doubt the seniors are spending much time apologizing for Richt, they just prefer the guy, since that's who they came up with.

And let me add that Richt, while not being a soul-selling winner, was prob a very good coach and father figure to these guys.
Im sure to some, seeing him go was not only bad, but left animosity. I mean lets face it, a lot of these kids have issues with family and such. Richt recruited so well just because of how great of a person he was and how I believe he genuinely loved his players. The guy was the face of the program, and for good reason.
I expected some fallout, most did.
Having said that....when you sign your fricking name on that scholarship, you play for the University of Ga, not Mark Richt. When he left, cry...pitch a fit..bitch...whine...but get the frick over it and get ready to play ball come fall. If guys aren't doing this, then show them the door.
I could easily see this hurting upper classman, more than younger guys, but I 100% agree that this shite is happening at GA. The problem is, how bad is it? Bad enough for us to lose to Vandy?

I do tend to agree with this. If they have any hopes of going to the NFL, they will be traded, cut and re-signed and everything else. They will have to adjust to new coaches and expectations almost yearly.

That's the thing though. Not many of our upperclassmen really do have NFL hopes.

All this means is more playing time for the young kids willing to put in the work which is only a good thing for the future of the program.

It's only natural this happens. I got a new basketball coach when I was a senior and the upperclassmen on our squad didn't like the guy and he only pretended to like us. He was much more interested in the younger guys and only tolerated the older guys. We absolutely sucked our senior season but that coach went on the win the region and make deep playoff runs and eventually got a job coaching in College.
I'm not surprised this is happening at UGA

I also have well placed sources and first of all, the well placed sources and I can tell you that the OPs story " not shooting the messenger" is concocted bullshite.
First, well placed sources aren't saying much in details that can get back to them.
Second, they are without doubt monitoring social media of players and associates.
Third, there is no sense of entitlement due to Richt. Underclassmen came in and took starting jobs from upperclassmen during Richt's tenure.
Whenever there is a change, there are a few people who, due to a number of events, end up being unhappy. It happened when we changed coordinators. This is just spin, to perpetuate the myth that all Kirby's problems are due to Richt. Kirby is not a victim. He is a highly compensated football coach. If a few players are disgruntled, it's his job as a leader to mitigate and manage. Instead, we have a few players who have become scapegoats.
There is no mutiny. There are a lot of frustrations though. If players are a distraction, do what Richt did and kick them... if not, then mamange the situation. This staff gets paid a lot of money to handle these things. It's on them. All of it.

You don't need well placed sources to know that current state of the team is on Kirby. Regardless of talent, we're better than we're playing. That's all coaching. Maybe it'll get better.
