Bobo just turned down a $100k raise, per some of the beat reporters. Told CSU he didn't hold up his end of the bargain, going 3-9.

So stupid. If I was AD, I would have fired him on the spot for this bush league idiocy.

That was a message to the team about accountability.

It is a $100k lesson. We will have to see if it works.

Nobody will ever think about this moronic gesture again after a few days. Except when he eventually gets fired, they'll add a sentence to all the articles recounting that time he turned down money owed to him per contract because he's such a "good guy".

So fricking stupid.

Ugh. Caffeine hasn't kicked in yet. If I believed in ADHD, I'd swear that I have it.

I really hope they remove Sarkisian from any speculation.

Just saw an article where Larry Fedora was mentioned. Wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Questions:

-Why move Coley up into the booth to sit beside Chandy this past year?

-And what was the dynamic up there?

-Was Coley there as an active consultant? Or just as an apprentice/observer?

There's been trouble in paradise to the casual observer. Would love to have been able to listen in on the conversation at the UF game when CKS was screaming into his headset and TV cuts to Chaney in the booth leaning back with his arms out like the Chist The Redeemer statue as if to say "why are you selling at me?".

I wonder if the multiple goal line failures carried over into the board room and this was inevitable.

I feel like you’ve seen this happening slowly behind the scenes after A&M came after him. Doubled his salary or something like that, gave him title of Co-OC, made him Qab coach. Basically took all of Chaney’s responsibilities except actual play calling. You may be right, Jeff.

It will be Coley. I was pretty salty about that last night, but after sleeping on it I’m good with it. It would be damn near impossible to really frick up an offense with our talent. It also allows us to bump Dell McGee up to Co-OC, if needed, and pay he and Pittman enough to keep them around for a while. Bringing in a good TE and recruiter like John Lily or Todd Hartley would be key, though. Lily was a lights out recruiter in N Florida and NC when he was in Athens under Richt.

Todd Hartley could be an option for TE coach

Meant Hartley, not Haley. Good call.

He'd be a great fit IMO. That would be consistent with Kirby's pattern of hiring younger position coaches.

A offensive staff of Coley, McGee, Pittman, Hartley, and Hankton would be very strong in recruiting.

I'm much more concerned about an offensive staff very strong in scoring points. I think we've got the recruiting aspect pretty well covered.

I am too, but good players help.

I'm pretty confident in UGA's ability to score points with whoever gets hired. This isn't a "do more with less" job.

This isn't directed at you personally. But I hate that mentality.
The Falcons go from the greatest show on turf to Steve Sarkisian. We go from Mike Bobo to Schottenheimer.

It can get fricked up quick.

I get what you're saying, but the talent level also deteriorated in that transition, particularly at QB and OL.

Shanahan is a truly brilliant offensive mind. Also, the OL deteriorated a LOT over the last two years and the run game declined sharply. The guards got injured/worse and Ryan Schroeder fell off of a cliff.

Sark has a stellar resume on the field in college.

As long as his booze problem is under control, he would be a great hire.
