Swift basically said don’t come if your not supporting us. I wish we could push the message that it is more of a shout to the coaches than it is the players.

Last thing we want for the team, recruiting, etc is some sort of rift forming there.

Seen this before, players need to worry about playing, stay out of fan relations.

It isn't a good situation. Nothing to do with the players and def play/scheme/coach frustration but no way for it not to come across negative to our guys and recruits.

Agreed. It’s a polarizing thing. This fanbase is so tortured and hungry that our highs and lows are extreme. It’s intoxicating when all is well and attractive to everyone but poisonous when all is not well. I definitely fall victim to it. It just is unfortunate that we are in the middle of playing for larger goals than most and we have to address things like that because something is so amiss (looking at you colely).

This has a chance to go really bad if things don’t turn around in a hurry.

And it’s not the players’ fault at all and it’s not the fans’ fault for getting frustrated.

Agreed.

I don’t understand how the players think the frustration is targeted at them.

It’s quite obvious it’s targeted at the coaches for continuing to try and force a square peg in a round hole.

What’s even more embarrassing is hearing the commentators talk about how predictable we are and that we run the same rinkydink plays week in and week out.

Wasn’t Fromm 7/9 with 1 yd passing at some point?

I also agree it could get worse should the same things keep happening. I know a lot of the talent we have is young but it doesn’t seem they’re being put in the best situations. Other teams seem to be doing as much if not more with less.

If he doesn't think the fans that sat through that weather aren't true fans...I don't know what to say.

At one point, we were up 14-0 with 197 total yards of offense. Swift had 135.

maybe this is what they are being told by the staff. most coaches blame lack of execution rather than coaching for these things..Smart as much as said the players weren't ready to play against USC

Yep, very rare to see a coach ever fall on his sword and say "That one was on me - my plan just sucked balls." They always blame "execution;" i.e., "My plan was brilliant, but those idiot players fricked it up."

I hate this because it is both true and misleading at the same time.

Were mistakes made in the execution of the plan that could have made that plan work better? Obviously yes, in every game ever played by every team ever.

Would a better plan have helped the team overcome some inevitable mistakes? Also obviously yes.

Jake made one postgame Saturday.

Said something to the effect of “have you ever tried to throw the ball in those conditions? You should go out there and try it. It’s pretty hard.”

Swift is exactly right. Its a team. Not just players or coaches. This board is a just another offshoot of the booing. No player or recruit wants part of that.

They may want to reconsider their decision to play sports, then. Booing/negative fan reactions have been around since day one, and it only gets worse if/when the players start getting paid to play.

Based on the number of ex players at any program that are aggravated and vocal with how their former team plays, I would say that most players feel the same as the fans when faced with the reality of being just a fan.

Which is short for fanatic....

True. And it's no wonder UGA fans are the laughing stock.

Na, our fans are no different from anyone elses at the level we play at.

If Bama / UT had gone in ties at the half, there would have been boos, same with Clemson.

Is what it is.

Here’s the thing: I love the players on the field. I want them to succeed and to see their talent deployed in such a way that they can maximize their potential and the potential of their teammates. My frustration is rarely aimed at the players but always falls on the men paid to prepare and strategize how to best deploy the players. I don’t give a shite what recruits think about my frustration because we are proving that recruiting only takes you so far if your strategy is shite. I want the coaches to know I’m frustrated, I’ve been frustrated, I anticipate I’ll continue to be frustrated, and I’m far from alone in feeling that way. We will invade opposing stadiums and we will incite multiple false start and delay of game penalties for you at home but don’t expect us to sit on our hands when you put the team in a position to lose instead of win.
