Uh ... wrong. It still is a liability ... whether you choose to accept that fact or not. All this noise we've been hearing sounds a lot like the noise leading up to the 2008 Sugar Bowl against Hawaii.

"Georgia's defense has never faced an offense like this one!"

"Georgia won't be able to keep up with this offense!"

"Georgia can't tackle!"

"Georgia won't be able to get pressure on the QB!"

"We have a Heisman caliber QB!"

"Our receivers are too fast for Georgia defenders"

"We'll score at least 50 or 60 points on Georgia!"

"Georgia won't be able to do this ... Georgia won't be able to do that ... blah blah blah."

Well ... we all know how that shite turned out.

Dude the Sooner defense especially against the pass is horrible. Fromm isn't amazing but he is a game manager...

You're right. Statistically speaking. But we have played well later in the season.

UGA/Fromm 62% 21 TD 5 INT
TCU/Hill 67% 21 TD 6 INT

Pretty similar to TCU.
OU's defense handled them fine.

This is WHY YOU PLAY THE GAME!!

In all seriousness, I think the OU defense will be frustrating for UGA fans to watch because the UGA offense will not roll over them like most seem to think is going to happen.

Jake Fromm is the 5th rated passer by Total QBR at 83.9. Kenny Hill is 32nd at 70.5.

People get too caught up in the fact that Fromm is only asked to throw the ball 15-20 times a game and they think it is because he cannot throw. When you are averaging 261 yards on the ground you don't need to air it out. UO is frickt.

Here is a simple way to look at it. We score a lot of points. They score a lot of points. We don’t let teams score a lot of points. They let teams score a lot of points.

We didn't even get to discuss their overrated OLine, which has never been challenged by a team like GA.

Interesting. Every place I look, tOSU's D-Line is rated ahead of UG's. But lets not let facts get in the way.

To be fair, most of UG's opponents' offenses aren't good offensively, and godawful at passing. OU has faced 2 of the top 3 offenses, and mostly top 50 passing teams. Imagine playing a bunch of Auburn's and Mizzou's and you'll get an idea how your defense might not come away looking great.

Obviously, UG has a better defense, but I'm just saying OU's defense might surprise you. It surprised tOSU.

Mizzou got 7 points on a turnover.
And 7 points against our backups while down by 26.

We weren't perfect. But our 1st stringers shut them down after the first 20 minutes.

It's honestly a lot more funny that ya'll act like you weren't blown out and embarrassed the first time you played them. Winning a rematch doesn't negate that somehow.

Winning a rematch is better than losing to a crappy team and nothing else to show for it.

Yea, they looked real good giving up 55 to unranked Iowa, which ultimately kept them out of the playoffs. Bravo!

I didn't want to start a new thread so I'll put this here. Some channel has a 30 minute long season recap for each playoff team, I think it's called "road to the playoffs" or something, and I watched oklahoma's yesterday.

Honestly, I now actually feel better about the game than I did. Obviously, BM is extremely good. Great. There's no way around that. But what I really noticed was that most of his passes were based on simply being accurate on medium/deep routes and his WRs making a play on the DB. 2 things about that:

-We've faced plenty of accurate QBs before, but the thing that makes me feel better is that you can at least do something about that. What's truly scary to me is a passing game like Wuerffel used to have at UF that was based on timing, there's a lot less you can do about that. When the ball is leaving the QB's hand before the WR has even made a move yet, but it ends up where the WR is eventually going ot be, that's ridiculously hard to stop or disrupt. I don't see that from baker, I see precision passing often times in not the best coverage.

-A lot of the highlights of big pass plays were throwing medium/long passes and WRs having some cushion on the DB. I believe Baker/Mcgee will probably be a better duo than anyone they've faced this year so I feel better about that. I also feel our pass rush will be better than any they've seen this year

-On many of their successful plays to the TE, the guy is streaking down or across the middle with basically no opposition. SEveral plays I didn't see a LB within 5-8 years of the guy. I have to think Roquan along with a month to prepare will alleviate that

Can't compare the two. I want us to curb stomp them but I'd settle for us in a close one.

Did you watch the game? The D-Line played well and was in the backfield a lot. Iowa's offensive scheme used quick hitting plays to take them out of the game. Iowa just out-schemed them (borrowing some things they saw us do in our game against them) and benefited from 4 Ints.

Or are scores the only thing that matter? Because Georgia's defense didn't look too good when they gave up 40 points to Auburn.

Let me guess, you read one or two posts by a crazy person, and then extrapolated that result against the rest of the population.

Come on. Iowa ran all over OSU, and the AU O was much better than the Iowa O.
