Above is a link to ESPN's breakdown, TL:DR ESPN has Oklahoma winning a close one, but I'm going to have to disagree here.

Here's some stats and replays for y'all, I've ignored the blow outs against the bad teams like UTEP and Tulane

Iowa State 38 Oklahoma 31

Stats
Recap

Oklahoma 42 Kansas State 35

Stats
Recap

Oklahoma 62 Oklahoma State 52

Stats
Recap

Oklahoma 49 Baylor 41

Stats
Recap

Oklahoma 29 Texas 24

Stats
Recap

Oklahoma 31 Ohio State 16

Stats
Recap

Oklahoma 38 TCU 20

Stats
Recap

Oklahoma 41 TCU 17

Stats
Recap

Some fun facts:

- Oklahoma is ranked 40th in rushing defense, 88th in passing defense, and 57th in total defense. That is behind the likes of Georgia Tech and South Carolina.

- The total record of their opponents is 70-76, which can average out to about a 6-6 record.

- Their margin of points scored is insane at roughly 45 points per game. However, their defense gives up 25 points a game including some high points to a 1-11 Baylor and a K-State team that got shut down by Vandy.

- They have a high powered offense, but a pretty poor defense. They have been able to bitch slap TCU around, but struggled with some really bad teams.

Basically it'll come down to their defense versus our offense and right now I like our chances. That vaunted Oklahoma offense can only do so much and might be on the sidelines for a while if Chubb and crew start to feast.

I'm sure there is a lot more to add, but right now I got finals to worry about. If y'all want to dig in deeper feel free to do so

We still have to keep Mayfield in check. I've only watched one of their games, the Big 12 CG against TCU. Mayfield usually had a lot of time to throw, but he's very accurate and sees the field. Lowest completion percentage of the season was 63%. We need pressure, and it would be really nice if we could do it using 4 guys most of the time.

I also saw some guy on 247 video saying Georgia would use Roquan Smith as a "spy" on Mayfield, which maybe the dumbest idea I could imagine. Roquan Smith is a spy on the football, wherever it is. Would be a huge waste to have him loitering around in the middle spying on a quarterback who doesn't even run that much.

The deep ball is a very serious threat and it's something Baker excels at. Getting pressure on him and not letting those deep routes develop is key.

Agree with this, but would add that keeping him in check means something different than it does with most QBs we play. IMO, if we can keep them in the 28-31 point range, we'll likely win the game. Mayfield will get his, but UGA can't get totally shredded. Need to make them work for everything.

Outside of two passes in the Missouri game, one in the Vandy game, and one in the Auburn game, our secondary has been pretty awesome at limiting deep balls this season. There's a reason we have the #2 pass defense in the nation despite being up a ton of points on teams all season when they had to throw. Our secondary isn't elite but they're pretty damn good.

Lot of focus on Mayfield, but they lead the BIG12 in rushing. Need to shut Anderson down & put the entire offense on the emotional Mayfield. He will force throws. Especially if our offense grinds out a lead and grinds down the clock. He throws great on the run, so contain & hurry.

We are the better, more complete team. Defense wins championships. OU going down.

I think they’ll torch us early like mizzou did but we wear them down on both sides of the ball over the long haul and win decisively. Like mizzou.

With the exception of Mason Rudolph, OU really hasn't had to face many good QBs this year. Not saying UGA has either (Stidham), though it seems like the OU defense has been getting a pass due to playing Big 12 offenses.

-JT Barrett? The guy doesn't look any better than he did as a freshman. He has a 21-0 TD/INT ratio against losing teams; 14-9 against .500 or better teams.

-Kenny Hill? Same deal as Barrett. 12-1 ratio against the 3 worst teams on the schedule (Jackson St, Kansas, Baylor). 9-5 against the rest.

-Iowa State's QB was making his first career start because Jacob Park quit on the team just a few days earlier. He had a career day.

-Texas started a true freshman and overcame a 20-0 first half deficit to take the lead in the 4th quarter.

-Kansas State had a QB making his 2nd career start and led OU by 2 scores at halftime.

-WVU's QB made his first career start because of Will Grier getting injured.

-Baylor's QB has a 1-10 career record as a starter and had his best game of the season.

-UTEP has the worst team/offense in the FBS, and Kansas has 4 wins in 4 years.

Not trying to discredit Oklahoma for their season and I acknowledge that UGA hasn't had to face many good QBs this year either, but it says a lot that so many of these teams were able to play with Oklahoma for 3 or 4 quarters with subpar QBs.

Hit Mayfield over and over and make it count. Force him into long third downs and hit him some more.

How in the world did Vandy beat KSU and hold them to 7 points but OSU gave up 35 to them. That seems promising.

My guess as to what Mayfield will face

That was the best game our defense played all year, IMO, including Auburn 2.0. Tucker and Smart dialed up all kinds of pressure and knocked Notre Dame completely off their game. We really haven't seen that kind of aggressiveness again, but I do like that we at least know how to do it. Whether we can pull that off against Oklahoma and senior Mayfield, hard to say.

Month to prepare as we basically had all camp to prepare for ND.

Offenses usually struggle after a month off....even better as ours is run based.

That starts with stopping the run. They average 216 rushing yards per game. If they approach the 175 or so mark, it'll be a very, very long day.

Hardly surprising; he gets hot and sweaty thinking about getting out of his favorite chair.
