Ok...that was my third horrid experience getting out of the stadium (not even getting into the hot mess that was TSA). People were packed like cattle for the slaughter for almost 100 yards while escalators dumped more people directly into that flow in the opposite direction. Security had to block escalators to keep it from getting worse.

I was aware this time and actually searched for an exit headed to our seats in the corner of the end zone. I didn't see any (came in through gate 4). We exited in the direction we came in (and the direct route back to our cars) which was also the only way traffic was flowing. There was no obvious exit signage and little to no security helping. This is combined with the fact that all the upper levels have to dump into the lower level for exit.

When we finally got to an exit all the back at gate 4, there were literally two sets of doors everybody was going through that were being manually held open.

God forbid a terrorist act, an actual fire, or some mob panic ensues. No way thousands aren't being injured or killed. I can't even imagine how this thing even got permitted.

As far as I can tell, there are no exits on nearly half the stadium. Am I wrong?

The lack of exits was known after the first game there. My guess is that there will be some "remodeling" this spring along with making the roof work.

I experienced something like this at a convention center once, it was absolutely horrifying. It's hard to imagine the fear until you are in the middle of it.

There are dozens of locations along that path that are nothing but window panels that could be large openings.

Having to dump all levels to the lower to exit on top of the lack of exits is archaic and an engineering fail. Especially when the stadium sits in a hole to begin with.

Mainly, I just don't get how the fire marshal is even ok with this. The liability they are taking with this issue being so publicly acknowledged is huge.

Just stay put and let it clear out. Why be in a hurry.

That said, it's 2018, how do they not design the damn stadiums to account for in and out and bathrooms.

I am personally not impressed with Authurs Anus and think Jerry World is better done.

Yeah that's easily the only glaring problem with the design of that building.

Philips Arena can have a similar problem when they shut down the CNN Center and everyone has to exit back out to Centennial Olympic. I've been to several playoff games where all the escalators are just dumping people down at that gate like a malfunctioning assembly line.

I was getting the hail outta there before the PA played Sweet Home Alabama again (still have no idea wtf that was about). Actually, we beat most of our section out. It was only getting worse and it was midnight.

It isn't as much about this game as it is the concept that it takes 20-30 minutes to exit a stadium when things are actually going well and many of the people are still in their seats.

I was at MB for 4 events this season (3 Falcons games + CF kickoff) and I haven't had a problem leaving the place once.

Just come down the escalators next to the Team Store and you're out in a minute.

If you're in the 300 or 200 levels, just keep walking East towards the skywalk and hit those escalators.

Or just do what I do and go get a seat at Molly B's at the start of every 4th quarter and sit there eating and drinking until the place gets somewhat cleared out.

There were so many people that you couldn't actually see where they were. We passed them not realizing it.

Ditto above. Ended up going down that stairwell.

Molly B's decided to offer all of their seating and food as part of a $1,900 ticket "package" a couple of days before the game, so you could not do this. Sucks because I actually wanted to try the place.

All in all, it wasn't that bad. We didn't leave our seats immediately and still got to our car at about 1:05am. Pulled into my driveway in Statham at about 2:10am. Have to say, traffic was a breeze. We did get to the underground Phillips deck at about 10:45 that morning and parked right near the exit, so we were in good position.

My guess is that whole area where you have it "oranged out" is the side of the building adjacent to the Georgia Dome ruins, if I recall correctly. Perhaps when they get done cleaning all of that up, they will remodel that lower area into another gate or two.

You would think that somewhere in the "wish list" of priorities for a new stadium the logistics of people entering and leaving would be up there with making sure there are enough bathrooms. I can't believe that isn't a priority in the design of these buildings.

That side with no exits is the side that is adjacent to the GA Dome. Now that the dome is gone I would imagine they will add exits once it is safe to exit on that side of the building.

I’ve only been in it once.....for the sec game.....I think it’s way worse than Jerry World which isn’t as nice as the Ga Dome was... I wouldn’t be surprised if the SEC CG doesn’t move when they have a chance.....

The side with no exits is NOT where the dome was. The GA Dome was on the other side.

Half the stadium exits ok. There was zero good solution on the south side the other night. The entire lower level was solid people. All the stairs and escalators on that side just dumped into the mess.

Replied to the UGA Athletic department survey.

(1). Why are the gates closed on the 300 level south side egress, 50 yard line when the game is over?

(2). Lumpkin at Milledge after the game is a clusterfrick. ACCPD do nothing, they put a cruiser flashing his lights on the north side.

You would think that they would have a police officer working that intersection, even if he/she controlled the traffic lights.

Nope, lets flash our lights. ACCPD is a joke.

I would think that the fungible aspect of ACCPD would be to accommodate visitors that pay their salarys.

I can recall a time when Boy Scouts directed patrons to their seat.

Now you have an armed "security officer" that will frick you up if you question her authority.

Going to and paying to attend an event and then thrown out because I told a pseudo policeman to "Get out of the way".

You would think that these ignorant people, these protectors of the law, sworn to uphold the law, could do better.
