Smash here

Well, sucks for him. I think things worked out the way they should have last year in hindsight.

His qb guru was a real genius. He should sue the shite out of him.

Newman bailing gave JT an opportunity to prove himself in games.... so yeah, I think everything worked out in our favor.

I’m pretty sure he was no longer an amateur, which is why Kirbs didn’t throw him under the bus.

Yeah, I feel like anyone with a normal amount of reasoning should have told him to play last season. Were none of his family, friends, or former coaches like "hey man, you need to play next year. You're not there yet." Or did they tell him and he was he just too dumb to see it? I don't get it at all.

The mindset is confusing, but not surprising. Entitled athlete.

This is one of only two explanations that make any sense. The other is he was losing the starting job in practice.

I love Stet, but if he beat out Newman in camp then the entire Newman thing was a joke.

JT really wasn't a concern in camp due to his knee.

Newman and the modern athlete that thinks it’s a good idea to sit instead of playing the game to prove yourself is everything wrong with modern society. It’s not like he was Jamaar Chase and put up yards. Kid was fed bad advice and ruined his own football career before it started.

God works in mysterious ways.

It was providence that had everything work this way, and while I hope Newman finds his calling in life, I’m glad he’s moved on and we have, too.

Can't remember who said it, but as always, stupidity's many, many martyrs haven't advanced its cause very much.

That’s the rational explanation. Better to come up with a BS reason to sit out than be on the bench all year. That’s not a good look for your NFL aspirations.

As indicators go, going undrafted and subsequently not even making the practice squad as an UDFA aren't positive developments either.

Who was he losing his job to?

Bennett? Mathis?

Does he have a linkedin account yet? I need someone to carry a bunch of bricks from my driveway down to the backyard and I want to help him out. But no idea how to contact him.
