Not to mention that the playbook will not change, no new system. Bobo is no idiot. It has just as much to do with the size of QBs and centers brain and balls as the OC. Bobo is already proven.

A lot of people weren’t 100% sold on Monken due to some recent struggles before UGA. Same can be said for Searels. Safe to say there is a different culture in place than the last time Searels was here. I’m good with the Bobo hire. Take some of that Monken money and keep the assistants happy. Also, we don’t have to worry about the OC bolting again soon.

Seriously imma not gonna say you know nothing...

You have your own opinion but you wanna question the decision a coach who just went 29-1 with 2 CFP NC's...

Imma trust that CKS knows more than me and has a clue about who can execute his vision of what his team should be.

If CKS woke up stupid this a.m. with this decision it'll show...

Kirby isn't just flippantly hiring someone. The fact the news of Bobo came out so soon after Monken's departure announcement says that Kirby has been sitting on this move for a while now.

rihgt, we didn't bring him on board from being an OC at another SEC school to tuck him away as an analyst just bc it'd be fun. Kirby obviously had a plan for him, same as stashing muschamp away as some kind of "analyst" for a minute before getting promoted to DC. If Kirby thinks enough of him to do all that then I don't know why our fans can't exercise a tiny bit of patience and see what happens.

I guess it's more exciting to get on etsy and order a new "run the ball bobo" cap though so there is that.

I guess we have the subjects of our 2023 bitchfests all lined up now

Beck sucks…why won’t Kirby play Gunnar?!

Bobo sucks…Kirby blew it!

After two nattys CKS could hire Mel Brooks as OC and I’d give him a pass.

this is unquestionably a lazy hire. A lot of stones are very much unturned.

I have not seen one bit of evidence of Kirby ever doing anything lazily. I mean you really dont have a clue how much thought was put into this decision.

More like this is a lazy post.

Just sayin… my Dad went to HS and is friends with Bobo’s mom and I’ve seen the emails. The number of games Richt called up to the booth and told MB to take his foot off the pedal, I’m just sayin I’m gonna give him benefit of the doubt and trust Kirbs. I don’t like Searels tho give me somebody else

how many stones did we turn over when we went from mel tucker to lanning?

I'd imagine even less stones, if any at all, were overturned when we went from lanning ot schuman/muschamp.

yet somehow, someway...both of those ended up working out about as well as they possibly coudl have.

I didn’t either but look what we just did with him didn’t we just have the fewest sacks in the nation last year? It all comes to talent bobo has never had a Delp or a Bowers or Arian smith or a mckonkey at his disposal he did have AJ green yes but that’s all I can think of right now at this moment or maybe Fred Gibson

We all should have realized when you saw the “analyst” out on the recruiting trail with CKS, this was already decided. Meaning, I don’t think this was rushed at all.

Those two probably planned this shite… that year they high fived and hugged after that big win against Auburn in 96.

You’ll have to forgive me for having considerably more trust in Kirby on the defensive side of the ball. In all of those cases, Kirby was/is there to act as a constant overseer.

On offense, he also hired James Coley for much the same reasons as he’s hiring Bobo (continuity, recruiting). I don’t expect this will go that poorly, but don’t ask everyone to think this plan is infallible.

In 2019, he had Monken coming to UGA until the browns offered the OC job.

Coley was a fallback for not having who he wanted. 1 year and gone.

Bobo was brought in and rumors immediately started about Monkens replacement for when he got what he wanted (near perfect scenario in the nfl). Well... the near perfect scenario happened (defensive head coach, full autonomy of the offense, I'm guessing that Lamar is QB).

Give me a ppg prediction for the offense in 2023.

It's ok. It will be nice to get back to the Tangarine Bowl or the Liberty Bowl.
