Ok. Just heard a rumor. Thanks for clarifying

Edit: Just read an article that Kirby and Mike are close friends so the rumor isn't true.

Interesting....Any idea what could have occured while Kirby was at Bama that caused the bad blood between the two?

Just competing for recruits, competing on the field that sort of thing. Pure speculation on my part. Seems like this job at CSU might have worn Mike out. Also (and this was probably a Richt thing) Mike's offensive philosophy was way more finesse than what Kirby seems to favor, particularly when it came to blocking schemes. Also, Mike can be abrasive (I know him personally) I could definitely see an alpha male clash of personalities between them. And one would have to wonder how this sort of move would effect Pittman's status. He seems to be the most important piece. Mike ran some clever and productive offenses and he could really develop a QB. He helped Murray become an all-timer and got the most out of second rate talents like Cox and Mason.

why would we want Bobo back?..and why would he want to come back?..I liked Bobo's offenses while here, but this is a different program now. Would not be surprised if Saban doesn't at least talk to Bobo.

remember it was here that most were clamoring for Smart and now we have him, for better or worse. Smart lost both coordinators last year. continually restructuring a staff is tough (unless you're Nick Saban) and CKS is not Nick Saban.

Yea I saw a tweet saying Bobo was a groomsman at Kirby’s wedding. Maybe best man? I think even he’s offered an analyst position it’s a good fit with Kirby.

Now Coley’s feelings on the other hand...

We would have gone Chaney OC, Coley named Co-OC, Chaney leaves and Coley is OC to adding Bobo as an analyst/QB coach/Co-OC in a 3 year span of this came to pass. Coley would potentially leave under his own volition. Not that I’d refuse to hold the door open for him.

Did you just ask why would we want Bobo back because our program has changed but then suggest he could go to Bama? Help me follow that logic.

Every UGA fan wants him so probably slim to none.

Kirby will come out in full support of Coley and offer him a raise and extension now.

I'm surprised people want him. I think he is very solid, but I thought most on here wanted a pass happy offensive guru ala LSU.

I love the "ground your opponent to dust" but I do wish we would get closer to the run/pass 50/50 formula.

We are run all the time and pass once in a while. Bama is pass often and run occasionally. That's how I interpret it.

I just want an offense that is a net positive and plays to the level of talent. Other than Swift and the O-Line there isn't a position on Offense that has shown the kind of improvement indicative of a + offensive coaching staff.

Look at the defensive guys. A blind man can see how much better they're getting individually and as a unit. The offense guys have improved some, but they really haven't kept up. That's not good enough. At this level and that pay scale, you have to show your added value or risk getting replaced.

Coley can stay as OC... so long as Bobo and/or Dooley are brought in as offensive analysts and take over the QB coaching duties

Not at all, just someone more balanced and innovative than Coley.

It will be a mistake not to grab Coach Mike Bobo as our OC and pay him well.

ETA: Let’s not forget his ability as an in-state recruiter also.

Anyone have an idea if he can be in Athens Sunday morning working on LSU? Can we overnight UPS or email the OneDrive file for him to look at our LSU game plans?

Was it in Valdosta where Bobo caused Kirby to sling rocks and peel tires leaving? Or was that another pair of coaches? Was Jay Rome the recruit?

I could have this all messed up.

As our OC? If Kirby's smarter than the UGA fan base, zero. Bobo would be another weak hire at a position we can't afford two in a row. But if CKS makes that mistake, he's following CMR's mistakes almost to the letter.

Bobo coordinated an offense that averaged 41 ppg with the original Fromm at QB (Hutson Mason). He would be a great hire.

CKS should bring Bobo in as OC and Muschamp as DC. Bobo realizes he doesn’t want to be a head coach and Boom realizes he’s not made to be a head coach. They could all coach together for the next 20 years and maybe have the best CFB dynasty ever.

I like it. Every January they could play rock, paper, scissors to see which one gets to be head coach that year.
