“Jamie Newman was the country's 2nd-highest-graded QB on tight-window throws this season -- the only QB higher: Joe Burrow.

On tight-window throws:
Newman completed 50 passes for 830 yards, 13 TDs and the country's highest adjusted completion percentage on tight-window attempts.”

This seems good. Come come Newman

The negadawg spin is already in place. The talking points are already out. If we don't get King, everyone else is shite, I'm shite, you're shite, Dawgs are shite, everything is shite.

These people need negativity like oxygen.

Even if we still had Fields, "well now we don't have any offensive line to protect him and coley sucks so we are wasting this good man's career, he should just sit out the season, wouldn't blame him"

Newman can come here and double the production of Fromm, and they'll still say "we should have had Justin Fields."

I'm telling you, watch these asshats with the Newman Negativity... watch them... this will progress exactly like I said.

I like what I see on film with this guy. Not going to lie just reading that he is coming from Wake Forest threw me off but after spending a little time watching some of his film I am on board.

The quicker we get more QBs on campus the more time they will have to work with the new crop of receivers. Either way this goes it will be a interesting spring this year following the competition for QB1. I really love the attitude Mathis had when he got here and am secretly pulling for the kid to become the next big thing but I would not be upset if this kid came in and beat him out. He looks really good.

Go Dawgs!!!

Newman would be an upgrade. I can get excited about a new team. We still have the talent to control the division.

He is a dual threat guy but he's not exactly a burner, more of a Jalen Hurts-style runner. I think Kirby would prefer a bruiser.

I'm not wow'd by his stats this past year, particularly his completion percentage. Fields really screwed us man, it's gonna be a few years til we're secure at the QB position.

His qbr is higher than Fromm's this year. Also have you not looked at a pic or his size? If he is not a "bruiser" not sure what is. Also he didn't have our talent around him.

On a far less talented team.

Against far less talented teams. You can't just focus on the talent around him...you also have to look at the talent he faced. It makes a difference.

That said, his highlight reel looked good, but it is highlights. He did seem willing to run and from the highlights he seemed to pick good spots to run.

Don't just look at highlights, but take a look at the whole picture. teams he struggled against:

Virginia Tech
Clemson (most did struggle against them, but it was awful)
North Carolina

I am not saying that he should not be considered or is not the guy. I am just saying look at something other than highlights.

He will be going against Clemson type teams more often than not in the SEC. (Auburn, Florida, Alabama, LSU) However he would also have better talent around him when facing those teams. It also seemed he had better WR talent at Wake Forest.

He had some very impressive throws and runs, though.

He was missing his top two wideouts during the Clemson game and for much of the Virginia Tech game. Just providing context to his struggles since people made the same excuses for Fromm.

I think Newman looks good; it would be a good pick up.

Those asking for King makes no sense ; we already have that. In SB.

5’11’- Check
195lbs- Check
Sub 5 40- check, actually SB is a little quicker probably

Been in UGA offense 2 seasons , advantage mailman
Been playing against SEC defense in practice- mailman
Better arm- again mailman.

If they want to go get JN, that’s a good pick up... but some of these other guys, Stetson is as good as if not better.

It's Wake Forest. They're almost always going to be the least talented team in the ACC.

My question is this, if he's so good why didn't he go to a big school?

Some guys are late bloomers. Carson Wentz was the #2 overall pick in the draft out of North Dakota State.

Dude, king had 50 combined TD’s (36 passing and 14 rushing) during his last full season at Houston. This is a very interesting take.

I would say Wake’s talent level is on the same level as some of the defenses they faced if not worse.

Also, did some dude really just say Stetson Bennett is better for UGA than D’Eriq King?

This threads makes me sad.
