Says the person who feels universally correct in saying “not all passes that hit your hands are catchable “. This is why I created the sugar free brownie thread for you, in hopes we could find something you could talk about with experience and understanding...

This thread is going to be a great bump for someone in a 10 weeks.

But for whom?

I personally would love to see Cook work as a slot receiver. With his size and speed he could really create mismatches and help open up the running game

Spoken like a true offensive lineman from an era of little passing. Stop acting like you know what it takes to catch a football, and Get back to your brownie thread.

The reasoning you used in this thread is never going to look good, even if Cook redshirts this year.

You've made your opinion known 20 times. What keeps bringing you back?

Unlike some others, I am Here for the football talk. Cook is already shining in camp like swift was. How on earth are these guys overcoming enrolling so late?

Two posters with the avatars of Michel and Swift in a heated argument over James Cook's playing time.

This is amusing.

Cook not enrolling early will affect his playing time this year with everything on the roster at RB and receiver.

For Rigs statement to be true you assume that there is a benefit to performance by enrolling early thus resulting in ANY increase in playing time over those ahead of him on the depth chart. One extra carry or block means there was an “affect” by enrolling early.

For this statement to be false you are assuming that any work, conditioning, practice or other experience gained through early enrollment would have NO effect on Cook’s playing time early next season. He gets the same number of carries regardless of whether he enrolled early or not.

Gurley, Marshall, Swift in 2017, sugar free brownies, etc. are irrelevant.

I believe that enrolling early and receiving the extra practice and conditioning involved improves a players performance and the comfort level of the coaches....

...therefore it will allow for more playing time early in the season.

To say it will not is simply illogical.

I bet I caught more TDs and 2 point conversions in Sanford Stadium than you did...

Thank you.

I thought I made a pretty bland "Captain Obvious" kind of post, and thought if anything I'd get lambasted for mediocrity. I did not think anyone would actually argue, immensely, against it.

He'd be 20 pounds heavier if he enrolled early?

No, but he’d spend more time in a college weight room which would help...

Andrew Thomas beat out players who had been on the roster for 3 years.

Time on the roster does not mean better. Especially at tailback and OLB.

Yes. Andrew Thomas was really freaking good. Time on the roster does not necessarily mean better, but >95% of players improve while they’re in college. More time helps players. I’m not saying new players can’t beat out older ones. I’m just saying that it can generally only help to be enrolled as early as possible.

The problem is you based your take on an incorrect premise. What happened with swift is relevent to the situation this year.

Number-string-boy said he needs help contextualizing his number string. You seem to have the time to do it for him. Will you help him?

I don’t need any help. My “number string” showed Swift’s touches by game. My “number string” debunked your theory that Swift wasn’t ready early in the year but got more use as the season went on. I wasn’t trying to get caught up in y’alls shite slinging, just pointing out facts.

Carry on.

Hey. We can agree to disagree.

I'm of the belief that time on the field on Saturdays provides more learning and improvement. As opposed to enrolling early spending time with the team in spring drills and summer workouts.

A kid who can earn time on the field in September can far exceed the development of a kid in classes January ahead of the rest of his signing class.

I said earlier, I love to see kids enroll early.
But it doesn't change my expectations in the fall versus the rest of the class.
