I personally don’t think he deserved it this year. Looking at it as a career achievement, sure, but this year wasn’t his most clutch.

There’s arguably better Kickers in our division and conference. He has missed some clutch kicks.

He’s done a great job at marketing himself though.

His consistency hasn’t been great but he did all but win the A&M game and was clutch in plenty others. Certainly going to go down as one of the great players ever at UGA

St Hot Rod the Wise shall ascend into Bulldog Valhalla at long last

And deservingly so. I say this only meaning I don’t think he was a better kicker than the kid at Iowa this year. Over 4 years you can’t find a better kicker. I do think a lot of his bad misses do get ignored but I mean he’s had enough huge kicks to make up for it.

There have been plenty of years the best kicker didn’t win. Nice for him. A shame it was after that last performance but his body of work is solid.

He's a great story, great kicker, and it's good for Georgia.

Everyone here shite talking Rod will be bitching at CKS next year when we don’t have somebody that can routinely hit those 40+ FG’s and boot kickoffs out of the end zone. He was clutch for his time here. Best of luck Hot Rod.

I don’t even know who our backup kicker is.

He's way down on the list, which starts with Kirby.

I'm not sweating it. This team would get outscored by all the playoff teams anyway.

I’m still bitter about not letting him kick the 57 yarder to beat USCjr. He makes that kick and he’s a vastly different kicker for the rest of the season. Coach not trusting you is a mental dick kick and kicking is a lot mentality.

Keep in mind that Rod made 3 FGs in a six point win over Notre Dame, 3 FGs in a seven point win over Florida, and 4 FGs in a six point win over Texas A&M. He was a big reason why Georgia went 11-1 instead of 8-4 this season.

Yep, in spite of the untimely miss vs SC, Hot Rod was easily the MVP on our team this season which is an indicator of how weak our red zone offense has been.

Exactly this. Rod was the most consistent and valuable player on offense this season. He carried this team and without him it would have been a truly miserable season.

frick all you haters. And frick Kirby for not letting him kick on 3rd down at the end of regulation against USCjr.

It'll be really interesting to see how Kirby/Coley call plays inside the opponent 40 without having an almost guaranteed 3 points in their back pocket. I think they'll have to get more aggressive.
