Any of you attended the Georgia game in Pasadena? With LSU’s season over I start looking to the 2021 season. LSU plays UCLA the second week.

What can you tell me about the area around the Rose Bowl? Are there hotels in this area? Area is safe, etc?

I appreciate any information you can provide me. Thanks

I was there. Can’t remember what hotel I was in.

Believe we stayed in LA and took an Uber over. I ate breakfast at a place that had massive pancakes

I went but I stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey. It’s about 35 minutes from the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl sits in a residential area. Very nice around there. I don’t know if there’s a whole lot to do outside of downtown Pasadena. The Rose Bowl is within walking distance of downtown. I walked there after the parade. If I were you, I’d stay closer to LA by the water with more to do.

Staying close to the Rose Bowl will leave you with nothing much for entertainment. Like visiting with the grandparents at the nursing home.

You can stay outside of Pasedena in places like Rosemead and get decent rates and Uber or taxi to the game.

Pasadena is nice, the stadium sits in a basin down hill from the city. They have large lots for tailgating, Uber was not much of an option getting out, we ate at the Country Club on the backside of the stadium several times.

We stayed in Ontario at a hotel by the local mall, bjs brewhouse in the parking lot. 45 minute drive with little to no traffic.

Was perfect.

I took my family and would do it again IF it was the only chance in my lifetime that UGA would play in the Rose Bowl....but I wouldn't do it again having done it once.

The stadium is in a park in a residential area and as far as I know there are no hotels and no restaurants nearby. At least nearby during the rose bowl because traffic is HORRENDOUS. During a normal game the traffic and security may be less making the area more accessible.

The stadium itself is a DUMP. Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, the home of the Braves, was a PALACE compared to the Rose Bowl Stadium....and AFC was about as bad as a stadium could get, I thought. The parking that I saw was in a grass field, or at one time was a grass field, probably, but was a dust bowl with some serious ruts in it....it would have made a helluva mud bog had it rained.

We went to the parade the morning of the game and traffic was HORRENDOUS. We traveled the route we planned to take from the train station for the parade to the game itself and had three alternatives which we traveled also to make certain we would be able to get to the game. When we started back to the train station, 4 hours before kickoff, we could not get back to the train station and our car so our plans were all done...so we tried to uber...nothing doing, traffic was so bad the only way to meet an UBER was to walk 30 blocks or so away from the parade route and then get dropped off 30 blocks or so from the stadium...and we were only about 30 blocks from the stadium so we set off walking...and just barely made it in 4 hours because of foot traffic....it was the biggest cluster frick I have ever seen.

It got worse AFTER the game...for some reason had to stand in line about 2 hours...to get out of the stadium....and then another 3 hours in line to get on a shuttle bus back to the Pasedena transit hub, which is about 10-15 blocks from the Stadium but, it having taken 4 hours to walk the 30 or so blocks, and traffic being as bad or worse AFTER the game, we, like about 75000 other people, decided standing in line would be quicker....it wasn't.

All in we spent nearly 20 hours....we left our hotel at 4 AM to get to our seats for the parade and got back about 1 AM the next day....and had not been more than 5 miles or so from the stadium the entire time. I know it doesn't sound possible that it could take 4 hours to walk 30 blocks but most of that time was spent standing still for 30-40 minutes in a mass of humanity.....every intersection took 20 minutes to get through, at least....it was a nightmare. I doubt a normal game day is as bad but the locals I talked to during the ordeal said it wasn't much better.....

We post game tailgated and watched Clemson lose to Bama and then drove out no problems. 3hours later we zipped right out.

Regular game will be nothing like the Rose bowl crowd wise.

The stadium is cool like wrigley. Not like Jerry World or Blanks Benz.

I stayed in Burbank. I took an Uber to downtown Old Pasadena for New Year's Eve festivities. It was all excellent. The downtown experience is likely not as good for in-season games vs. UCLA. There are a couple of downtown hotels. If UGA ever returns to the Rose Bowl, that is where I will stay, close to the action. I reserved a room long ago for this year's Rose Bowl, just in case. I have since cancelled. On game day, I parked my rental car in a reserved space near downtown. It is walking distance to the stadium, though a bit of a hike. I took an Uber to the stadium though. After the game, I followed the crowd back downtown and spent more time in the bars etc. before heading to the airport for my flight home. That wait downtown allowed all traffic to clear out. The stadium itself is no prize, but I was there for the game, not the stadium amenities. Getting more beer was a non starter. The lines were too long. I plan to return any time UGA plays there again, including the currently scheduled game against USLA a few years from now.

Attended, and used to work in Pasadena.

Area around the Rose Bowl is a golf course and some neighborhoods, so you'll likely have to stay some distance away, but there are shuttles to the game - at least for the bowl game. Maybe not during regular season games, but the crowds are smaller, so if you've got a rental car, you'll be able to park on the golf course and make the short walk to the stadium.

As for safety, unless you think you're apt to get mugged by millionaires, yeah, you'll be fine.

We stayed about 20 minutes outside of Pasadena and took the metro train into town as we booked too late to get anything in Pasadena. No issues on the train...it was less sketchy than Marta in ATL. We walked a solid 10-12 miles that day when it was all said and done as the stadium is not really close to the city center. You could park at the stadium as well but the traffic after was horrendous.

As far as the stadium itself, bathroom and concession waits were ridiculous. My buddy and I ran down to get a couple of beers before the half before hot rod nailed the FG and we didn't make it back to our seats until they were a minute into the 3rd quarter.
