I said he played great. He still isn't going to win us a national championship, and he's still nowhere near the talent Fields us.

Nobody cares what you said before. And nobody cares what you say now.

How do you not understand this?

You sure?

I wish he could have shown up for LSU and perhaps we would be undefeated.
He showed up to play. He was just under duress for most of the game and he wasn't getting much help against a good LSU defense. Regardless, even if he had a terrible game, do you honestly think that Fields would have had a completely different game in a hostile environment against a top team? I think our busted coverage against Tua in the NCG has given you a false impression of what Fields would do.

quote:

It's going to hurt to lose a Deshaun Watson type talent from your program without him ever being given a chance to do anything. It will hurt even worse if he goes somewhere and balls out.
He's a true freshman. Give me a break. And if he's willing to transfer because he wasn't made the starter over Fromm or because we didn't risk games on his untested arm and legs, then good riddance. We don't need prima donnas on this team.

That said, I hope he sticks around because he can mature and develop in this program with Fromm guiding him.

Smart has handled this poorly
Nope. He's given Fields actual playing time even if isn't as much as you are happy with.

What specific promises did CKS make to Fields and his family (with supporting evidence) and how has he not followed through on those promises?

It's also going to cost us more recruits.
More recruits? Have we missed out on any recruits so far specifically because of how the QB situation has been handled?

He had all day ti throw. Pressure wasn't why he sucked.

A far less talented game manager is going to guy Justin Fields? Get it through your head dumbass. Fields is gone. You got what you want. See if it gets us anywhere.

He's wasted a redshirt year on nothing.

An real open QB competition. We both know that never happened.

Ever heard of Jadon Haselwood?

Based on what, exactly? What empirical data do you have to support that argument? There isn't anything to show that so far. You just think he will be better because he's the new shiny toy.

I hope you choke in your sleep.

And what the frick is he going to do with a redshirt year? He's God's gift to football. He will be pro in 2 years. Right? That's what you keep saying. So what in the actual frick does a red shirt do? Please tell me.

He's bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic, and has a far better arm. He's also an incredibly smart kid by all accounts. If you're going to say Fromm is as physically talented as Fields, you might as well go jerk off somewhere, because I can't take you seriously.

On some plays, yes, on others, no. There were a lot of defenders in his face throughout the game. When he did have time and his target was open, he made most of this throws.

You can watch all of his throws here.

Uh, yeah. Fromm has won an SEC championship and the Rose Bowl and was a blown coverage away from a National Championship. He's got a very high football IQ and knows how to read defenses. There's a lot for any freshman to learn from him regardless of his skill.

You are just full of astute football wisdom

quote:

Get it through your head dumbass. Fields is gone. You got what you want. See if it gets us anywhere.
Is that an argument? That's a statement full of emotion.

Regardless, we don't know what's going to happen to Fields. Like I said, if he thinks he's the best there ever was (right now) and thinks he is being treated unfairly, he's free to transfer. Clearly the coaches don't think he's as trustworthy as Fromm to lead the offense or else he would have more playing time.

And if Fields transferred, that would not be something that I'd want. I hope he sticks around and improves his game and can ball out for us in the years to come.

quote:

He's wasted a redshirt year on nothing.
You consider meaningful snaps as a true freshman as nothing? You must be hard to please.

quote:

An real open QB competition. We both know that never happened.
Got any data to support that? What about a statement from the coaches? From everything I've seen, they've had a legitimate battle in practice, both getting snaps with the #1s, and Fields has been in for several series against real teams during the meat of the game (not just mop-up duty), all as a true freshman against an experienced (and good) quarterback in Fromm.

Do you think an open QB competition means that both would get equal snaps against LSU?

Ever heard of Jadon Haselwood?
I have. Mind quoting where he said he was de-committing because of what we're doing with Fields?

Oh, so you're saying he has more potential? Well that's fricking retarded. Potential doesn't win games. You're literally too dumb to debate. You don't know the difference between potential and on field achievements.

Tebow wasn’t more physically talented then Cam Newton, but who won that qb battle? It’s about who’s the better leader for the team

This shite is getting old, so I'll simply say this. Read between the lines. A quote from Haselwood:

quote:

“Obviously right now Justin might need to be in the mix,” Haselwood said. “Because he has the better arm and stuff like that.”

Other than that, I've grown tired of the never ending back and forth where we regurgitate the same arguments over and over. Again, you got what you want. Let's see if it pans out and we can win a natty with Fromm. I'm not holding my breath. If we can, then all of this is irrelevant. The sole goal of this team should be to win a natty and what will it take to get there. It's the same reason Clemson ditched Bryant. No, I'm not comparing Bryant to Fromm, only the situations.

Nowhere did I say anything about on field achievement you f**king idiot. I specifically mentioned physical talent and you came up with some stupid BS. Any idiot with two good eyes and a double digit IQ knows Fields is far more talented with a far higher ceiling. Ask any recruiting analyst who followed both whose more talented.

You can't even follow a conversation or remember what the hell anyone is even talking about.

To me, talented QBs win games on the field. Matt Stafford is more physically talented then Drew Brees. Who would you rather have as a QB. Your problem is you have no facts to back up anything you say. You argue on emotion and hypotheticals. You argue like a child.

Fields may or may not be a better QB than Fromm. Personally, I hope he is. That would be awesome. Unfortunately, there is nothing he has done on the field to show that. You say he is the better QB because he is physically gifted and had POTENTIAL to be good. That's a fine opinion. But it's not fact. I like to deal in real life. Not some fantasy some moron on the GSB has thought up in his head.

The same moron that said there was no way we would win the SECCG in the first quarter. And the same moron that said there was no way we come back to beat OU in the Rose Bowl. That's not a fantasy land in which I want to live.

You're obviously senile and can't follow a conversation, so there's no reason to have one with you.

You have to actually be given a shot in order to show that. It doesn't magically happen while you're on the sideline. Smart had that chance to put him in against LSU. There's no evidence he's going to do it anytime soon or ever, except against blowouts against cupcakes.

Give it a rest.

Amen. How freaking old this argument is getting.
We just beat Florida and these pricks are still pissed off that Fields didn't get to play.
