Experience

Since when did experience not help one player be better than another. You can't discount it. Sure Fields maybe more talented, but if he can't make the right decisions at the line or recognize coverage because of his lack of experience, then Fromm's the better QB.

I understand your loyalty argument, but that doesn't seem to be Kirby's coaching style. If you were talking about Richt, then I wouldn't disagree so much.

He may need time, and maybe that's exactly what Kirby's doing.

Fields isn't going to be around long enough for that. Fields probably realizes he's sitting for the next three years unless he leaves. He's not DJ Shockley 2.0.

Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell. Until then, I'll put my trust in the people who are actually part of the team and around him everyday.

Experience is a good thing if you can get it, bad if you don’t.That’s what Fields needs, but we can’t give it to him.

Most head coaches are loyal to their qb, especially an efficient leader qb. Kirby learned from saban, who was overly loyal to hurts.

Get real, Fromm will be Smart's QB for the next three years. We'll win a lot of games but not another championships Fields will transfer and ball out somewhere else.

Apparently you and I didn't watch the same game. Just because we lost (to Bama) doesn't mean it was a bad game. We were one bad call, the blocked punt called off sides (incorrectly), from winning the game. Either way, it has been called one of the best NC games of all times. But maybe you're a better judge than all of the experts. you do seem to have a whole lot of opinions.

You got any stock market tips? You seem to be certain...no way you could be wrong.

He was 16/32 for 232 yards, 1 td, and 2 ints. That’s a passer rating of 108, which is not good objectively speaking, which you are not equipped to do.

232 was the 2nd most yds he passed for all season. And it was vs Bama who, if you haven't heard, plays pretty good D.

it was enough against a great defense to be in position to win the NCG.

That doesn’t make it good.

Auburn and Clemson are glad they didn’t have this take.
I don't care what they have to say. Selfish jackasses aren't good for team morale and cohesion.

Would you really care if that selfish qb helped you win it all with a heisman caliber season?

Your daddy should have taught you how to tell the difference between a good game and a bad game instead. The facts speak for themselves.

Apparently not.
A defensive stop on that play would have likely won us that game. We had more points on the board than Bama until that bad defensive play that allowed the TD.

quote:

Teams that beat Bama usually need more than 20 to beat Bama before overtime. We needed 21.
All we needed was more points than them. It doesn't matter how many that is so long as it's more. We had more points than them before that blown coverage on the last play. If our defense stops them on that series, we win the game with the number of points we had accumulated at that point. You seem to be forgetting that football includes offense, defense, and special teams, and it's not just on the QB to perform well.

quote:

Beating the upgraded tua Bama might take double that.
Probably, but we also left some points on the board and got screwed out of some of them (the blocked punt). Regardless, it's going to be difficult for anyone to beat Bama this year, and not just because of Tua. He's got an all-star supporting cast that makes his job a lot easier and their defense isn't too shabby either.

Yes and no. Of course I'll take a championship but that's not the point. The point is that we aren't guaranteed a championship with an egotist but we are very likely to disrupt the team as a whole. The odds are against a championship no matter who we have at QB because it takes more than a good QB to win one. We need a lot of stuff to fall into place and we nearly had that last season even without a Cam or Deshaun.

I think you and some others here think that Fields is a god among men and that if he's playing, we can't lose. That's nothing but wishful thinking at this point that ignores a lot of stuff that those exceptional QBs had that helped them succeed.

I do think a player like him can elevate a team above it’s station, as we have seen, but that doesn’t mean we can’t lose.

I think the vast, vast majority of CFB experts and fans would disagree with you. And I think you're being more racial than rational. It happens.

No analysts or fans who know football would ever look at that stat line and say it was good. You are letting your emotions cloud your judgement.
