This is the year that a hardass defense will win. Bama and Clemson don’t have near the defense they did in the past and these other teams don’t either. An aggressive pass rush that puts these phenom QBs on their arse....like we did against Tua last year ....will win it.

I just don’t think we’re there.

You should go over to the SECRant and put down Georgia all day. You could even throw in

1980

once in a while like the Arky fans do.

I'd like to believe so, but our offense has to get a whole lot better and less pedestrian.

Fields May very well be the best QB of the two. We could regret that he transferred, he’s clearly lighting it up and is a good fit for Ryan Day.

However

I still maintain that UGA and Smart didn’t do anything wrong. He was not the best option at QB last year, system misfit or otherwise. If you can honestly say you believe he was then you are honestly and truly just full of shite. You weren’t at practices and you don’t know to what extent Justin knew our offense.

Plus, it’s not like we could have held him down and forced him not to transfer? Maybe JF just decided there was a great opportunity elsewhere with a job wide open and didn’t want to potentially win the job from Fromm in 2019 or wait until 2020.

I appreciate Fields' ability but I don't bemoan the fact that he isn't here. I appreciate Fromm's ability also.

I was hoping that Kirby would play both QBs equally last year but Fields was badly shortchanged. That failure is on Kirby but Fields might have transferred regardless.

I've been wanting UGA to win a championship for a long time. Pointing out Fields being better than Fromm doesn't equate to rooting against Fromm. Everyone here is a UGA fan/alum and we all want them to win. I've reached the point where I'll believe it when I see it.

He’s playing in an offensive system that accentuates his skill set perfectly. It’s a 10000x better fit for him than Georgia

I'm not going Fromm/Kirby bashing here, but great coaches adapt their system to the players in it and not the other way around.

he will always be a dirt bag in my book for playing the bogus racism card as a reason for his transfer.

Agree on that. If the Heisman voting had to include character points, Fields wouldn't even make the ballot no matter how well he does at Ohio State. Claiming he was traumatized by the supposed racist experience he endured at UGA was about as classy as...well...what we would expect from someone raised like he must have been.

I’m sometimes really embarrassed at the ignorance of UGA fans. This is one of those times.

Changing your system to accommodate one player can have some bad unintended consequences.

Wait, we should adapt our entire offense or make our entire offensive roster learn a new one or part of a new one because of a backup QB?

I agree in theory but you’re talking about a backup QB. I think it would have been extremely reckless to modify our scheme to fit Fields when the best chance at winning a championship IN 2018 was Fromm.

The GSB critics of Fields' game and it's fit for UGA have always been wrong. Fromm was properly entrenched though. Now fans are able to watch two terrific QBs. The difference is that I want Fromm to win and hope for every other national competitor, including OSU, to lose.

I just wish Fields had never come to UGA so we wouldn't have to hear all this pathetic wining and tepid takes. Fromm wasn't going to get beat out last year, period. Meaning Fields was going to transfer, period.

If I were Fromm I'd have the hugest chip on my shoulder. People act like he's some chump.

I want another Fields or one more Fromm. Load up on talent knowing that we might not be able to keep all of it. I like where we are right now and going forward. This is turning to a very exciting year.

I don't.At the very minimum we kept him away from our rivals.

I wouldn't want to be facing em if he was with the Gators or Auburn... he'd be a game changer.

Maybe Alabama fans should be whining about letting Hurts go, since he's putting up better numbers than Tua.

Y'all act like Fromm is a scrub and it sucks.
