With OUR quarterback at the helm. Think what our program could have been had thing gone a little differently.

It's insane the QB talent this program had in the room over the last several years. 2 guys already in the pros. Two more next year. (Counting Newman)

Newman is already in the NFL. He's just getting paid by his agent until the draft.

Best not to worry about it. Transfer portal and free.will created this shite.

Not sure Michigan isn't the team to best in the B1G as osus defense is awful. Martinez is awful at throwing the ball and got oulled., Nebraska is a .500 team at best until frost gets his guy.

This type of whining is why I despise bandwagon or sidewalk fans. The situation was the situation. Deal with it. Therapists don’t cost that damn much. Get one.

It sucks but it was the right decision at the time.

This false narrative is driving me crazy, like Kirby told Fields to get lost.

The more experienced QB was starting and winning. Fields said initially he didn't mind being QB2 or even redshirting. then one day he changed his mind, and I guarantee Kirby did everything he could to keep him. The false narrative that Fields just wasn't the QB Kirby wanted is just bullshite. Kirby landed a helicopter at Harrison HS to recruit him. It's beyond stupid to think Kirby simply "let him go".

Thank God there are others present that actually “get it”. The only thing Kirby could have done differently is play Fields more against LSU but in Fromm’s defense the entire team sucked that day. It wasn’t like he was the only one who had a bad game in Baton Rouge and he turned right around and rallied us past Florida.

Yep drives me nuts. Smart didn’t “choose” anything nor did he “make him leave”. Pretty sure Fields was recruited by Kirby who was excited about his potential.

Maybe Smart in hindsight could have played him more in 2018. But Fromm wasn’t playing bad in 2018 and Smart was all in on winning it all that year. You don’t mess with the team trying to win a championship.

I fully expected Fromm/Fields would have been 1a/1b going into Spring and Fall camp but he chose to leave. And Fields had a decent shot to win the job over Jake. But he left.

Clemson and Ohio St both have Georgia QBs playing for them. Meanwhile in Athens, UGA has a walk-on. Having three O coordinators in the past three years has not helped, either.

Until Kirby can get and keep elite QBs in Athens he is never going to get where he wants to go as a program. This is nothing everyone else doesn't already know. I am just venting.

Point is you give a guy the opportunity the show what he can do. We didn't do that so he left.

If you're better than the starter, which he was,
you're supposed to be able to compete no matter what the starter is doing but he didn't get the opportunity - and you definitely should get a shot if the starter is struggling.

That didn't happen so he left and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was right and his frustration was justified.

I promise you Mathis and Daniels both think they're better than Stetson. If they don't get a real opportunity moving forward they're transferring too. And if they transfer I'll give better than even money they were right.

By being unable to read past his first progression, then take off running like he did in high school?

Fields has come a long long way and he's an exceptional QB, but for you to state so matter-of-factly that Fields was the better QB his freshman season is ridiculous. better upside sure, more uncoachable talent, yes. But better guy to get you a NC as a true freshman? That's an overstatement.

Mathis has his chance and we lose vs Ark if Bennett doesn’t bail him out.

Kirby didn't have to put Fields in for single plays over and over against weak teams. Kirby could have let Fields compete on an even basis in 2018. Even back the, it was obvious that Fromm was the weaker QB.

The point is if they are better they should be playing. It's play the best players, not take the least risk.

History along this seasons play prevent me from having confidence that they're not.

Don't give me that shite. A guy who got into Harvard couldn't understand that simple fricking offense? Save it for someone else who's grasping at straws.

Fields is a smarter football player than Fromm. Period. He was a better player from his first start. Period. He should have been given every opportunity to take the job because that's what was best for the team. Period.

It was a mistake. Doesn't mean Kirby is a bad coach. Nothing wrong with admitting the truth.

Understanding has nothing to do with. Executing it, and breaking old habits he built in high school (1 read, then run) was the issue. The other issue was Fromm, coming off a near NC win, best season we had in a long long long long time....gonna bench him for a true freshman?

Why did Fromm win the Rose and damn near win the National Title, while Fields lost his only playoff game.

As it pertains to accomplishments, Fromm got it done as a freshman Fields couldn't as a sophomore.
