In fairness to you, I edited to add the quote lines when I got on my computer this morning. Don't know how to use the quote function from my phone.

Just have to highlight the text and then click quote. My iphone makes me drag the highlighted part over the entire quote. A pain in the arse

Some guy up there said Kimber should be 100% soon. He won't! He needs shoulder surgery but is trying to play through it. That's what.

This may be why previous reports listed him as probable. This sucks for him because he put in the work during the offseason.

On SEC Live they made a good point. They said the difference between UGA's defense and other good defenses are that in other defenses you will occasionally have a wide open receiver running down field. In UGA's defense there is never a wide open guy. There may be an receiver running down field but there is a defender right on him. All those deep throws were good throws out in front of the receivers. Nothing you can do about that, there is no defense for a perfect throw

Not all of the throws were perfect. We could have done better on 2 of the 3.

But the point is accurate. UGA does not have busted assignments running free.

And if we do, it's often masked by our insanely consistent pass rush. They won some jump balls on us but the coverage didn't look bad to me. Looked like our corners were playing damn good but Vann was just better on a few plays.

Lock down CB's last year? Who? UGA's CB's got blistered by the only good teams they played. There were some decent to good CB's, but I didn't see any lock down CB's. Yes, I know the DL and LB's have something to do with it too, but man...lock down???

According to the other site, Kimber is done for the year with the return of Tykee.

Are they really liability? Per the Senators blog we”re #2 in the SEC for pass defense.

CFB Stats

This completion % so the rush obviously plays in…but even total yds are lower than most.

Hard to argue that Stokes wasn't a level up on anyone we have out there (at least at their current stage of development). NFL doesn't take a corner in the 1st round for nothing.

Tyson Campbell was a significant talent too.

If we hadn't gone out and gotten Kendrick, we would be in a rough spot with Speed (good but no Champ Bailey by any stretch) and a still learning Ringo (or less than healthy, smallish Kimber).

Dude that's a whole different level. How many are on par with Bailey?

Lock down corner is a silly term that doesn’t take into account the pass rush or defense being played.

Tyson Campbell might as well have been on the side of a milk carton during the Alabama and Florida debacles last year. He got torched repeatedly in both games.

When you watch FL and AL both were getting the ball out pretty quickly to avoid the rush. We have to take that quick slant away from Bama and our DL needs to contain the QB for both teams rather than barrel upfield. I could see us dropping back a lot and trying to get pressure with our DL only because both teams were pretty good at throwing into the blitz.

Vann had a helluva day and flashed a ton of talent. Outside of his 3 grabs, it seems the only real vulnerability with this secondary is the deep ball and, given our pass rush and blitzes, the deep ball is a damn tough play to make. If Bama/UF come at us with short, quick stuff, I think our secondary has shown that they're definitely pretty solid tacklers and limit YAC. I would blitz, blitz again, and blitz some more against Bama and UF. Force those inexperienced QBs to make plays.

Bump man makes it hard to get the ball out quick. Makes the QB wait for plays to develop. People need to understand what we are doing on each play.

I think your Dbs are fine as long as the front seven keeps pressure on and eliminates the run game. Look how you made Clemson 1 dimensional, we got lucky on many deep passes...also our recievers run great routes, Stepp is one of the best wr coaches in the nation. You guys will be fine, Ringo is gonna be a stud. If your safeties quit biting on PA and let the LBs do their job your defensive backfield will shore up, just my opinion.

Ringo splits time for sure. TBH he has played better than Speed. (Our modern day Bryan Evans)

I dont worry about the aafeties.

They will score more points than they give up.

Corners are a work in progress.
We have talent but lack experience.
My only concern about saturday is that i didnt see recovery speed. We had recovery speed with baker, stokes, and campbell. Based on camp numbers, speed and ringo should be able to recover.
