The biggest transition to college, besides the size and scope of the playbook, is how much faster the game is and how that affects where and when you throw the ball. Some struggle and then learn. Some have a gift and can do it right away. Some never can. I wouldn’t give up on him, but I can only assume he has some work to do.

Sounds like he has a lot to overcome to become our starter next year.

I'd bet the house we're just waiting on BVG at this point. No one currently on the roster will be starting next year.

Who knows but the kid should step into an excellent situation. We should be loaded at WR (provided all are healthy and or not kicked off) TE,RB and OL.

I hope the kid is mature, enrolls early and spends lots of time in the film room.

From what I understand, all of the above are true.

BTW, what is Rosemy's condition? I saw a dislocated ankle. Was that all?

Heard the surgery went fine and it's an injury that he'll be able to come back 100% from.
Far quicker than a blown up MCL.

Gotta get all this guys healthy this winter.

Oh, okay. That would make sense. Either way, I wasn't trying to argue just something I picked up from the video.

I looked it up and what you said seems right. He was born 2/2/2000. He's almost 21.

That's great to hear. It looked awful on camera with his foot turned the wrong direction.

Anyone heard anything about Dom Blaylock's recovery? Assuming too early to have much of an idea?

Literally what I’ve been saying all year

I watched him play in person his freshman year at USC. This was all very noticeable.

Again, doesn’t mean he can’t improve and get to where we need him to be, but it’s why I was laughing when people just assumed he had to be miles better than Stetson.

Because he didn't have that final year, my gut take is that he was probably ranked a little more on potential. That's not to say he isn't or can't be a good QB, but that his rating may have been inflated at least to a small degree.

He was also the same age as the seniors when he was a junior.

His freshman year, everyone talked about how he reclassified and should still be in high school, despite the fact that he had turned 18 in February. It’s not like he was some kid younger than everyone else.

He has so much potential. We just need to coach him up.

Just repeating what Kirby said and he also mentioned James Cook had a similar surgery.

I knew Cook had ankle issues last year and in '18 but didn't know it was that severe.

It's possible that our worst fears are true, that Daniels is actually worse than Mathis and Bennett,

Daniels has plenty of game film that is pretty definitive that if he’s healthy he’s easily better than those 2 lol

Watched a film study the said unlike Lawrence and Fields who had no one at an elite level to throw to, that Daniels had an NFLer, a future NFLer, and a high level d1 wr to throw to at Mater Dei during his career.

Gives me pause.

Keep in mind that he was rated as the highest QB prospect *as a junior*, then reclassified to graduate a year earlier. While recruiting rankings are certainly imperfect, they generally get more accurate by the time a kid is in their Sr season of HS. Because he didn't have that final year, my gut take is that he was probably ranked a little more on potential. That's not to say he isn't or can't be a good QB, but that his rating may have been inflated at least to a small degree.

I remember his recruitment fairly well.

What most people don't know is JT's father held him back in the 8th grade specifically for football purposes.

L.A. Times

quote:

Many top prep quarterbacks have personal coaches and have repeated a year in school so they could be more physically mature in high school. Daniels repeated the eighth grade.

However, once he was ranked as the #1 QB in his class his father decided he didn't need that final year of high school so he graduated early.

We do indeed have talent at receiver at Georgia unless the stars we are recruiting aren't actually any good. Stetson Bennett hit how many hands on the Alabama line during our game with them?

What were the final numbers of Bennett and Mathis in the Florida game?

Former CB Nick Marshall could easily do better
