Would be a big fan of this hire.

Go check out the offenses he put together at Cincinnati.

He and Coley worked together for years at FSU and are good friends, so I’m not so sure it would cause coley to leave.

It's probably just poor writing on the part of the original author, but that really reads like he's damning him with faint praise.

Man, Gran is pretty long in the tooth and statistically he's underwhelming. This seems like low hanging fruit to me. Major Applewhite needs a job and he had a top 10 offense with less talent than even Kentucky. Kirby better be careful with this.

Agreed! This just doesn't excite me, but neither did Chaney or Tucker. Tucker was great and Chaney was good not great.

The AJC is reporting a offer has been made, I believe 1.1 mil per for his services.

They're citing a report from the Kentucky side.

No idea which is correct

Not only did Coley and Gran work together at FSU but they were CO OCs. Coley may be pushing for this.

So, Chandar leaves on Tuesday, and an offer is made to replace him by Thursday. But, Tucker took new job a month ago, and no offers have been made that we know about...

What the hell is going on?

The flow of info out of BM is basically shut down.

We don’t have a clue who has or hasn’t been interviewed or offered.

Neither do the beat writers. We will probably get another round of offseason stories whining about media access.

Agreed...only thing I can think of is it was someone who was still coaching somewhere else, but both NFL and college is over with only playoffs to remain

Now its all over the internet that Gran turned UGA down. We'll see if any of it is true. Also check out Gran's twitter.

Kentucky offensive coordinator Eddie Gran made his first tweet in four days on Thursday evening after a report surfaced that he was offered a job as UGA’s offensive coordinator.

I’m all in, #BBN! Let’s do this !

Obviously, Gran seems to indicate he’s “all in” at Kentucky, and we’ll have to wait until later to find out what kind of interest that UGA had in Gran, if any.

There’s a radio show out of Birmingham called Three Man Front (which is worse than the Herschel Talkers podcast but one them is a sideline reporter for espn Cole kubelicks. ) Anyway, they were all gossiping and claiming that insiders say Kirby is obsessed with perception. Specifically, his perception as compared to Saban.

And so their insider theory goes that Kirby wants Lapoi. That Lapoi felt like he was DC in name only, and Saban was the real DC, so Kirbs wants to poach him to stick it to Sabe’s, I guess for some kind of ego perception trip.

So there’s that.

I was thinking the whole time that it was no different for Tucker under Kirby though. Kirby is the same way. And Tucker was basically assistant DC. So if Lapoi wants more control, UGA makes no sense for him either.

Long story short, I think it’s taking this long because Kirby is looking for another subservient DC like Tucker. One that will let him run the Defense instead of expecting to take full ownership of it. That type of thing narrows the candidate pool.

Good point. If you want to get an accurate perception of reality, make sure you only to listen to homers that will never threaten your narrow worldview. Never seek a variety of perspectives or opposing views. And always put numbers after your username to signal membership in the useless moron club.

If Gran is an RB guru, run heavy approach, does this have a ripple effect positive or negative on Coach DM? Does he get pushed out or would this have a synergizing effect?
