1- don't be a pussy

2- get used to it. This is the lowest rated 1st ranked class and highest rated 30th ranked classes. Parity is here to stay.

3- number of blue chips signed is still elite

Thing with parity is it is always fleeting, those who won prior will ultimately when again with exceptions like Nebraska.

Rude.

Also you missed a word when you went back to edit it. Reread and try again.

I was looking at a Georgia HS recruit who signed with Alabama, Edmonds from Sprayberry HS. He's a 6 ft, 2.5 inch tall, 175 lb cornerback. He also runs track for Sprayberry, with a personal record this past spring in the 100 meter dash at 11.82 seconds. He was composite 4 star up until last Febuary, fluctuating up and down in the 115 to 145 range nationally for about a year. Video and production didn't seem to live up to his ratings to me.

Then on Feb 6th he popped out of that long standing range and hit a new high at #106 nationally, on Feb 9th some recruiting analyst put out a glowing report of his talent, and on Feb 10th he got a prediction to Alabama from an Alabama Insider. Over the next three weeks he reported several high profile offers and received a series of weekly rating upgrades. By early March he was a solid 5 star ranked 26th nationally and #1 or 2 CB in the entire class. Three weeks after that he committed to Alabama and has maintained his ratings at the 5 star level ever since.

This recruit may have great potential, but the data flow during his rapid ascent to a 5 star last spring was the kind of information that might be managed for effect if someone was so inclined. There was nothing I can see from his junior season or vital statistics that should've supercharged his recruit profile. That's the kind of thing, among others, that makes me skeptical about recruit ratings. At best, there's a media driven groupthink that has a big effect on perceptions.

It's all about who the kid's people can get to put eyeballs on.

You can pay Mike Farrell himself to promote your kid and get him on the radar of recruiting services. He said today that he had 40+ clients sign with FBS/FCS schools yesterday.

I used to think Farrell was an outlier in the recruiting service industry. I don't think that anymore.

Every announced commitment everywhere needs to be in quotes until the dude actually shows up and plays.

Not likely to sign with UGA. Not a major loss.

Also, Chace Calicut’s felony charges were dropped and he will likely enroll next week. Reminder that all charges are not equal.

That is a bit of a strong reaction. He was a 5 star guy that probably never quite became what he thought he’d be but he still gave it 3 years before leaving. Some kids only give it a year. He was also likely passed on the depth chart. While it sucks he is going to a team UGA just lost to, he isn’t going to a historical rival. Imagine how tech feels with Isiah Canion transferring to UGA.

Wound up committing to Auburn

Edit : I didn’t know that until I ran across it accidentally today.
