Oh I’m ok without another Brendan Douglas. He had some good moments but I can’t forget Vandy.

It’s not far fetched to compare the two. Neither of them had burner speed

It's the only thing that was similar and neither are remotely close in their running styles

What’s far more awkward is comparing Knowshon to Swift

What? Both run low to the ground and
are excellent at making folks miss.Swift obviously has an edge when it comes to speed.

It really looks about right. He looks like he compares extremely similarly to Holyfield stylistically,

Reminds me a lot of knowshon. Elite feet. Gets skinny through the hole

One of these is not like the other

Admittedly I haven't watched the kid but you really can't be more opposite than Holyfield and Knowshon and I'd much rather have someone who is similar to Knowshon. Its an obvious need with Swift leaving and a more spread out offense

To be fair to holyfield, I really think he had good vision and knew when to bounce a play. The net result is similar to someone with great feet and gets slippery through the line (they create opportunities that other backs may miss).

They are very different in styles but the net results can be similar.

Sorry to get off topic but what explosion has cook ever shown? He's a change of pace guy who can play different personnel packages without having to change personnel packages.

He has the potential with his speed. But yeah, you are right. he hasn't taken a long one to the hose that I remember.

Back to Edwards, his top speed isn't as important as his agility in a phone booth that can turn a 2 yd gain into a 13 yd gain by making the first guy miss. How is he in that department?

I agree with you 100%. hey. I am firmly in the Edwards camp. I think he will prove to be a good pickup. I am not expecting Swift/Chubb/Michel....but I do think he can be as good if not better than Holyfield. (And I like Holyfield, alot)

Great video here by Brooks Austin breaking down Edwards: LINK

Kid reminds me of Le'Veon Bell, just not quite as big yet.

I'm really hoping this thread gets back recruiting news.

Not sure if this qualifies as news but:

January 30 - Rivals recruiting analyst Josh Helmholdt recently said that he expects Jones to end up with the Auburn Tigers. "The highest-ranked prospect left in the class is who I am looking at for some Late Signing Period fireworks. Broderick Jones is committed to Georgia, but I think he pulls the switch and ends up with Auburn."

Is Xavier Truss ready to start at LT in the SEC?

Huge! Keep Van Pran and this is an amazingly good OL haul. Gotta be one of our most highly regarded OL classes of all time right?

Now there is still a possibility that he was too tired to drive over today and could visit next weekend after NSD and delay signing. However, this was going to be a huge weekend for Auburn and odds seem to be that this thing is over

It’s always pleasant to watch a whiny fanbase throw a tantrum over a recruit who was never committed to them and then accuse us of cheating for holding onto a kid who has been committed for almost 2 full years...
