Well if Evans indeed punched his coach then that would cause UGA to do some due diligence prior to admission. It seems there are several cases each year of both college and pro athletes punching others, mostly females and that is what I meant. If they don’t and it happens while at UGA don’t you think that would cause some problems legally?

We have a player who throws tech players into walls, of which I approve, for tech only!

From what I remember he never punched any coaches. That was rumors that other people started, and were all shot down by Evans and his coaches.

All confrntations were verbal, and I don't think overly serious. Just serious enough to need some correction, but not enough to go defcon 1.

Coach could have offered to let him know when his parents got in as a compromise and then took the phone--remove the objection. Can't tell me with a kid of that stature that the coach is not connected to the parents.

So while this is going on, where do we stand with Broderick Jones and Sedrick Van Pran?

Announcement expected tomorrow from UGA. Perhaps about Jake’s decision.

Mobilize ships to enter the transfer portal but hold for now.

Broderick Jones

Visiting UTk (1/17), Georgia (1/24), Auburn (1/31).
Auburn would be the one to watch.

Sedrick Van Pran

Will take official to Georgia (1/31?) and have two other official visits remaining. Florida (1/24?) could get one of those as he could tag along with his teammate, Ashaad Clayton.

Neither of these guys planned on signing early. There's multiple advantages to waiting until February if you're not an early enrollee. Getting more attention/time while visiting, having more knowledge of the depth chart (early signees, transfers), and coaching changes are just a few of those.

Van Pran has changed his visit date? I believe Dawgnation reported that he was supposed to be with Jones on the 1/24 visit.

I agree about the benefits of waiting. The ESD period only helps the coaches. It doesnt help the players at all, imo.

As far as Evans-

Durden nailed it with speculation and that's all there is with this situation. Heard several things and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. No use in doing anything other than wishing this kid the best.

I'm not certain on his dates, but he's an elite interior lineman. It would be great news if that report is true though as he's recruiting for the good guys

Crowknowsbest said the same and one other poster. That's all I need.

If we sign them before signing day do they count against this class or next?

I believe if they sign before it counts towards this year.

If they show up for school and enroll in classes it counts. Otherwise, it doesn't.

Wonder is staff is all-in on Daijun Edwards, following the Evans news. Assuming Black signs with us, we'd have a few spots and I would feel much better with a 5th RB given Cook's inconsistencies and I'm a little uncertain about Zeus' ability to be the bell cow.

VIP nuggets were in agreement but that's probably where the rumors started.

I’ve watched Daijun Edwards film multiple times. I do not see an SEC back. If we have truly screwed up the Evans deal, we just need to take one and use the spot elsewhere.

You seem to always be reflexively negative. Your big complaint last year was the D-line. You pissed and moaned about it and it was our best area this year.

You don’t know what happened with Evans, but isn’t it great to have such a strong class that you can tell the #1 RB in the country “no thanks”. If CKS, arguably the best recruiter in the country, thinks Evans would have a negative impact on the program, then he shouldn’t take him.
