Looked at Aaryn Parks twitter, he has posted pro Oklahoma content after his Ov to UGA. Hope we can flip him but looks bleak imo

There may be some truth to this. Clearly Jones' interest isn't in following Pittman to Arkansas...and as they say, you commit to a program, not a coach. This makes no sense other than he's not too encouraged by what he saw this past year. Smart's brand has taken some hits. We'll see if Matt Luke can do some convincing but losing a 5-star from Lithonia would not be a good sign.

Jones hasn’t been terribly engaged with this class from the get go. I just chalked it up to him being a quiet dude but maybe there was more to it all along and Pitt leaving provided the necessary push?

Oh well

Auburn has a reputation of losing to their rivals, dropped two of three this year. If he leaves, he probably just had a better relationship with another coach. I wouldn’t take it as an indictment on our program

UGA is probably due for a down year in recruiting after this season, but these teams are built from the middle out - the exact opposite of CMR.

A top 5 class is likely, and with the way Kirby closes top 3 is still quite feasible.

The future hinges on a very good season in 2020, and the good news is the recruiting of the past 3 years is what pays dividends next season. Winning will solve everything.

Some of you are fricking idiots. Willock is clearly taking Braun's spot.

This. The Jones stuff has been a concern before Braun decommitted; Willock and Braun are Guards and Jones is a Tackle. The commit has nothing to do with Jones

Frankly I'd be more worried if he were picking Clemson or OSU. If he wants a better program he isn't going to Auburn.

There's absolutley no reason this staff can't bring him back into the fold. Hopefully Luke can make it happen.

Ultimately I believe Broderick Jones stays in the class. No reason for a kid from Lithonia - an hour from Athens- to go three hours away to a worse school.

The correct number of OL to sign this year is 4.

Pittman had 5 commits because he was told he could sign an extra if he got the right guys. He did.

Now he is gone. Braun decommitted and the number goes back to 4, especially since we need to take another QB and an extra DB or receiver.

Willock is a project. Just hard to believe we would make him our fifth OL signee. Seems like a definite “plan b”

Probably could have picked a better person to reply to...

From me earlier...
"Rated at guard... Why would we assume he's anything other than a replacement for Braun at this point?"

We’re taking 23 total and have 14 committed. Next 9 in my opinion are:
Darnell Washington
Kelee Ringo
Eric Reed Jr
Jermaine Burton
Jordan Burch
Dontae Manning
Arian Smith
An OL to replace Braun or a 2nd RB
A 2nd QB

Puts us in roughly the 315 range which should be good enough for another top 3 class

Talk to my close buddy who is close with Ringos dad. He said Ringo is 95 percent dog. He said Oregon is on him hard, but Georgia is the front runner and dad doesnt see that changing before signing day. Dont shot the messenger.

Immediate playing time verses sitting for a year or two?

Auburn is desperate for OLinemen right now, and as a whole have nothing but mid tier 3* committed in this class. On the positive side for us, Auburn doesn't seem capable of coaching up lower tier OLinemen, either. Would I go there if I were an OLineman? No. But some will see early playing time as incentive.

Article about AU's top 5 OL pick/flop Greg Robinson Really goes after Gus and how his offense doesn't prepare OL for the
NFL

quote:

Robinson played in [a college offense] that barely resembled anything that exists in the NFL. I could hardly find any clips to make comparisons [for what he’s done with the Rams].”

quote:

But the ability to absorb coaching and change styles is different for everyone, and even the simplest tasks can be difficult. Just teaching a lineman to start in a three-point stance — crouched down with one hand on the ground — can be a major hurdle.

“Getting down in a [three-point] stance isn’t natural,” writes Schwartz. “Straining through your face mask to see the defense — through the defensive line, past the linebackers, and all the way to the safeties — isn’t natural.”
