The Gala wasn't as big of a recruiting event this year. The timing of the new dead period and state championships made it not work very well

Lorenzo Carter has said he will give us his last official visit in January. That's big and it's a good sign for us that he has already decided something like that.

Hellz yeah that is great news! Watched him/his team win the State Championships on tv the other night. Kid has a good knack for jumping up in pass lanes. He tipped about 2 or 3 passes..also he is apparently STILL growing too..he's now up to 6'6" and 230lbs. Kid could end up the same frame as Clowney(6'7" 275lbs) by the time all is said and done.

I don't see how that give us the edge. Having the last official haven't worked out too well in past years. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Typically we do pretty well in the last OV category. Last year uncharacteristically sucked arse, but as history goes, our coaches are good about being able to counter the garbage that the Tennessee/Auburn/USCjr folks fill the kids' heads with.

Not UGA related, but 5* LA SS Hootie Jones decommited from Bama after committing to them over LSU last week. This has created a clusterfrick on the SECrb, predictably.
In other SEC recruiting news, Davonte Lambert flipped from UT to AU.
Also, Bama re-signed D.J. Pettway, who was one of the four kids they kicked out after a combo assault/robbery last spring.
