No way.

It’s either Outback or Citrus. Either Kentucky gets Citrus and we get Outback or we get Citrus and Kentucky gets outback.

The thing to remember during this time is that a lot of sites post bowl projections without doing their homework on how all the tie-ins and exceptions work (like how the SEC assigns the “group of 6” bowls). So there’s a lot of completely bogus projections going around.

Not gonna lie I was pretty nervous about a Big 12 matchup vs an Okie State with how bad our secondary is. These Big Ten matchups are much better for us

ESPN's tandem of Kyle Bonagura and Mitch Sherman are especially awful. It feels like they pick teams out of a hat at random.

we submitted our list of acceptable bowls to the SEC if we fall to group of six. We should be highest ranking member of that group so we should get what we want.

But the SEC tries to accommodate everyone so they ask for multiple options. We listed 3. None would be vs B12 (Outback, Gator, Music City).

ETA: obviously we don't know opponents yet and there is often a mad scramble on Sunday when we find that out like when ND ended in Nashville. But it's clear we are angling for a B1G opponent.

"The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl is a big New Year’s Eve bowl game, and it will pit an SEC team against a Big Ten team.

According to Gator Bowl president Rick Catlett, the bowl already is down to two SEC teams that will be playing in Jacksonville this bowl season.

Per Catlett on 1010 AM, either Texas A&M or South Carolina will be playing in the game this year."

Would much prefer the Outback over the Gator.

NYE games are a pain in the arse and take up way to big of a chunk of the night. It makes going to NYE parties difficult too b/c inevitably there's always at least one person who is adamant that we need to turn the game off so some random music show on ABC or whatever can be on instead.

Agree with this for the most part. We went to Dec 30 Music City Bowl vs Louisville and stayed an extra night for NYE. Nashville for New Years was awesome.

Yes, it was crazy. But I'd still rather watch our bowl hungover at noon on Jan 1 than plan all of NYE around it.

ETA: I'd forgotten I posted this little gem:

I am enjoying the angst of some of the LSU fans on the rant right now.

Just a foretaste of what will happen when we beat them, IMO.

It has been everything I imagined it to be
