Has Bost had a positive test? I'm curious why there are zero QBs available.

Texas A&M not only had no scholarship QBs available, but walk-on Blake Bost also was not available for Gator Bowl because of COVID-19.
WR Ainias Smith could have tried running option offense as QB, but he still has injured foot: LINK via @houstonchron

Yeah, then that's game over (really). I knew he was a walk-on.

By the bowl they would have been fine. However no practice and would have been very rusty. So, yeah.

Here's is the full text from the article.
"In addition, starting quarterback Zach Calzada has transferred and A&M did not have a healthy scholarship quarterback available. Walk-on quarterback Blake Bost, who was scheduled to start in Calzada’s place, would not have been available for the Gator Bowl because of the COVID-19 outbreak, a person with knowledge of his status said."

I think this is probably right, but would they be allowed to travel to be there and be ready? Seems like all the different protocols fell off the radar before omicron, so I have no clue what the policies are these days

Absolutely weak sauce by the administration

He just got his facts wrong. I'm assuming this is Bost's last year.

Bost is a freshman.

Supposedly, a lot of players sitting out are symptomatic. More than just a couple

Will be the #4 QB on the list next year. The Gator Bowl was his best opportunity. I'm just saying he will likely move on.

Do we think we pulled for which of the following reasons?
A) We have no QB and only 13 defensive players and it made no sense to play, really no choice.
B) We didn't want to embarrass ourselves.
C) We actually think covid is dangerous to our athletes and are doing the right thing for them.
D) Lawyers and administrators care more about liability & PR than anything else. Don't want to get sued or be accused of causing a super spreader event in the airport etc..
I think D is most likely. We have deep pockets and live in a very litigious society. So I get it. And I'm not even mad.
UA All-American game will be the most interesting bowl game for A&M this year I suppose.

Some combination of A, C and D

A and D. B is kind of a byproduct of A

Zwerneman doubled down and clearly someone in the AD told Bost to shut up because he deleted his tweet. Wouldn't want to blow up the narrative.
