What about the UCF and Montana State transfers?

I absolutely fricking hate the spread offense.

The spread offense has won how many championships the last 10 years? Spoiler: most of them.

07 - LSU - nope
08 - Florida - yes
09 - Alabama - nope
10 - auburn - yes
11 - Alabama - nope
12 - Alabama - nope
13 - Florida state - I guess? Don't really remember
14 - Ohio state - yes
15 - Alabama - nope
16 - Clemson - yes
Bit of a stretch to say most of them. And it's the same story if you go back to include up to 2000.
Would rather have a balanced or prostyle offense.

Let's not forget that defense and ball control offense is what wins.

15 Alabama yes to an extent,
Florida state yes,
If you keep going Florida won the year prior as well.
How do the numbers look if you exclude one outlier team?

Alabama claims they run a spread now, but they will still line up under center in the power I and run over a team too. Sure they're more "spread" than they used to be but I wouldn't call them a true spread team just yet.
I've got no problem with a true spread offense like Florida used to run or Clemson, but don't want a fake Oregon style spread or whatever abomination we've been trying to run. A lot of teams claim to be spread, but it's really just a hurry up air raid or similar.

I wish we could do something like this.

Oregon ran the hell out of the ball under Chip Kelly

Trick plays, misdirection stuff, run/pass options, etc. yes Ohio state or Clemson has a few truck plays up their sleves but not to the extent Oregon was using it.
Edit: and maybe fake isn't the right word to use. Maybe it's more just that they didn't have the players, but outside of making it to the national championship that one year, what happened any time they ran up against a well disciplined defense that had good ball control on offense? They lost.

You're undoubtedly talking about Stanford, and yes they've lost some to them, and beat them as well. Stanford had been a good team, it's not indicative of play style deficiency that they've split games against a top tier rival.
Their playoff run was ended by an OSU spread team, coached by one of the spread offense godfathers at a top 3 recruiting university.

It's not that it's fake, but that it relies on speed in every phase of the offensive side. A gimmick, if you will.
And that would be fine, except everyone that matters in the SEC can recruit speed+size and quickly shut it down. And whenever speed didn't work for Oregon, they looked mighty lost on the field.
We need a well balanced offense that can be just as physical as it can be fast. The option spread could give us that, but it's not the best way to get there. Give me a west coast offense like we had under Sherman (minus the second half collapses of course).

I was more talking about under chip Kelley where they would lose to Stanford, USC, and out of conference SEC teams like LSU for a season opener and Auburn in the National championship game.
As stated above me, the minute a team could match speed with Oregon or didn't fall for trick/misdirection plays, Oregon looked a lot more pedestrian.
At the end of the day I think you need to be able to multiple things on offense now. Nothing wrong with being in the spread for most of a game if you've got a good offensive identity and the players to run it, but you do need to be able to drop down under center and run the ball down the other team's threat too when you need just a yard or to run some game clock.
I'd really like A&M to realize it is not illegal to throw the ball to a TE.....

It's not like they got blown out. Oregon held Cam Newton to 22 points and had the game tied at 19 w/less than 2 minutes left.
