With 8 TDs in the first 25 minutes of the season, Weigman has only 2 fewer TDs in this game than Maalik Murphy has in his career.

Ahhh I didn’t know this was in reference to Weigman. I agree with you then, I’ve said before, he’ll be the one to win a NC at A&M

Weigman, and the talent that is going to be around him as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see us back in on Evan Stewart who is definitely watching these things

What WR would NOT want to play with this kid?

No joke. The talent that is being assembled here is staggering.

Would love to get Stewart but a great QB will make a good WR into something great. In Jimbo's offense he will always have a big OL, strong RB and TE play, and then you add in a mobile QB and it means that the WR's are going to be singled up most of the time.

That means he wants tall guys with good speed on the outside and guys he can put all over the field on the inside. I can see how a guy like Stewart may still want to go somewhere they will throw it 40+ times a game and run 4 and 5 WR looks most of the time. They want to go rack up big stats and that's going to be harder at A&M than at some other places because we are unlikely to have a WR that gets 10 catches in a game on a regular basis, we only had 3 times a WR got over 100 yards in a game last season and usually the high for receptions was 6 or 7.

The guy I think will be most dangerous in Jimbo's system is actually Thompson, 5'10 and only 165 but BLAZING fast. Have a guy like that lining up all over and looking for ways to get him the ball in space and let him go.

That said I do expect some 5 Star WR's have to watch that game and want to be on the other end of those passes. I just don't think it is needed here as much as it is in other systems that are designed around great WR play.

Time to start talking extension?

Apparently so. Added 3 years and ~$40M guaranteed.

Still no protection if he wants to go to another school, but it would probably be hard for him find a much better offer elsewhere.

Buyout is meaningless.

If anyone is willing to top our deal the. It means he’s already won a title. We’d match and beat any offer at that point. If things go south and he leaves then it gets us off the hook.

That’s a fair point

My next question would be, is this also guaranteed money?

I bet all or most of it is. So is Saban's. But nobody cares cause ain't nobody gonna want to fire him. That's how the deciders at A&M feel about Jimbo. They are all in.

That’s a great point that I hadn’t thought about, and you’re right if someone comes at him with 12 million a year or more it means we’ve hung a natty on the stadium

I love how the world is melting over us throwing just a little bit of money around

By no means am I upset about the extension, I just would have liked to see him completely locked down, but Farmer made a great point as to why that's not important. No one is going to offer him more money and we've shown we're willing to make facility upgrades as well.

A&M has given Fisher everything he's asked for and more. If he leaves, there isn't much we could have done

No way in hell that he leaves. Who the hell would he leave for? Please don't say LSU. Only fans have said that not any actual reporters

If LSU is without a coach at the end of the year, then it makes sense to be proactive with Woodward looking ...
