So I'm sort of an older kid ... a 46 years old, sexy AF (don't be hatin') Christian who would put up my Aggie cred against anyone's. I used to own and operate a li'l TAMU website on Scout.com with my twin sister--it was called 12thFan.com. We wrote all of the original sports content, attended all A&M press conferences for every sport (tennis, equestrian, golf, and swimming included), and operated the site back when websites were coded without forms and scripts--entirely on our own. Peter Kuo, the creator of TexAgs.com is a dear friend of ours, and we were both amongst his first moderators when he started TexAgs. Ultimately my sister and I relinquished our website (12thFan.com) to the Websider group, as our lives in Houston kept us from devoting the time we wanted to dedicate to the website. IN OTHER WORDS, I'm not new to message board communities, nor to Texas A&M University. The only things in my life more important than A&M are my Heavenly Father, my family, and the 2A.

So here's my point: When this whole tSECr moratorium thing was proposed, I guffawed. My life and full time gig are tremendously busy (as are y'all's), and I haven't the slightest interest in playing games with dorky college kids on a sports message board .

But when I actually paid attention to it, it was nuts. No other university fan base faces the same junk from a rival--current or former--on the site. And until I was specifically looking at it, I didn't realize how prolific it was. I'm not a troller, but I couldn't post anything (with a couple of exceptions) about Texas A&M without a horn drooling all over the thread. But I have a great amount of respect for the Tiger Droppings administration, and I'm more than aware how challenging it is to make everyone happy within a website community.

I know 99.9% of y'all don't give a lick about this endless missive of mine. And I'm fully aware that nothing will change. But I just wanted to say that I've glanced at tSECr these past few days--without most of us posting--and the horns are all but gone. I enjoy the site, and I'll certainly post again in the future, but I know they'll be back. The answer for me is to ignore the horn posters and enjoy the greatness of Texas A&M in the SEC. It feels silly even talking about this, but I loathe when our fans respond to 'em and give 'em a reason to post.

OK. I'm done. And I swear I'm sober. I just wanted to explain my background and my reasons for taking a backseat this week and next (not that any of you noticed nor cared!). I want our family to have a place to hang without the horns doing their nasty thing; hopefully most of our cadre will enjoy our SEC freedom, away from the ladies from Austin.

Gig'em, God bless, and BTHO Texas State!

It's pretty amazing how they disappeared when we stopped posting.

I'll start posting again after the season starts, but this has been a good exercise. The rant will never admit it, and we'll get all kinds of hell for doing what we did, but I'm glad we did it. The mods were way, way out of line with how they were handling things. I know A&M will never get fair moderation on this site, but maybe it will be incrementally better.

Wish I could say the same. I think they're jackasses.

So skip the thread and don’t read it.
I don’t get why you’re such a jackass to me.
I must’ve erred somewhere along the way .
Such is life.
I appreciate your earnest response, though, Ag.

I suppose a large part of this topic is what does one want from this site and how is it utilized by the majority of users. I'm of the opinion that tRant is more or less a place to get the battle hardened views, opinions and blatant trash talk from the fans of all the schools in the SEC. Sure there can be some light hearted discussions or informative threads of happenings but for the most part when I think of tRant, I'm of the mind it's a place to engage in back and forth banter with other teams' fans while keeping the scope of SEC athletics.

Would I come here to get deep insights into my own team's performance and happenings? Nah. Would I come here to view the perceptions of others in our conference (keeping in mind with the tone of playful/not-so-playful banter) and perhaps some other happenings within the conference. Absolutely.

Now, when the horns beat Georgia in their bowl game and have an early match up this season with LSU, I think it's understandable that there is going to be an in flux of sips on this site during the off season. Their confidence is up and they have a vested interest in participating on this board for the time being. Add in the caveat that they're going to have a natural disposition against A&M (just as we to them) and LSU is going to join on that disposition against us, you have this weird triangle of sips, tigers and aggies all going at each other. But it's also safe to say after 74-72 (and the building 'rivalry' with LSU) and the long prior rivalry with texas, that we're going to take the brunt of the vitriol from both LSU and texas fans.

Where my opinion differs is that this is no time to tuck tail and run. Quite the opposite really. An opportunity has been lost imo, but in the end if our fans aren't up for these types of conflicts and situations.. then maybe we need to step down our overall approach on the rant, which I frankly have found amusing over the years.

Just my 2 cents.

I honestly have no idea what this is talking about. I guess I'm behind the curve.

What I will say, though, is that this place (including tSECr) is light years better than TexAgs when it comes to the mods. That sycophantic cesspool can rot in hell and take it's pubic-chinned Buddha with it.

It is safe to say that the school 90 miles to the west of us has been shaken by our successful move to the SEC. Their only recourse is to head to The Rant and take their cheap shots.

The moderators failed to realize what was going on and it came down to this. There is a small amount of this coming from Clemson toward USCe but nothing like the Randy alters that flooded the site.

Let me add a PS. The Rant will continue to flourish without us and we will continue to flourish without them but it doesn't have to be that way.

There is no doubt I will be back.....at least one more time.....but if the mods don't get a grip, I can live without it.

I can take the LSU banter, it is all part of this. But the mods need to get control of the alters from Central Texas. It seemed as if anytime an Ag posted something the alters appeared.

The mods say we need to RA. That is foolish. I do not want to spend my time RA'ing. Life is too short.

I did like the idea of having our official game threads on tArk. I thought that would be a solid troll job. I’d be annoyed if I was on the rant in a pig game thread talking trash, but there weren’t any Arkansas fans there to read it.

I do agree with your overall idea of just ignoring trolls, which I think is probably what most of us do, but there are a select few that really enjoy the banter, or can’t help themselves.

I ultimately was against the moratorium on tRant, but basically went along with it in that I don’t spend much time on tRant anymore to begin with, precisely because of the reasons you mentioned.

For the record we have had game threads on here for years. The Duke game thread is a classic.

I’m aware of this. The idea was that everyone participate only in tArk gameday threads.

Which would lead to an official thread on the score board sub that would be nothing but shite talk towards A&M.

The boycott was always a stupid idea. The funniest part was it was thought up by a guy who would have made fun of it for years on end had another fan base tried it.

I agree with you. I was not all that motivated to let those little dorks control my life. All the t-sips are "Randy" so you know what I have to say about that.

But I want to address the most important detail of your OP:

Randolph = tiny penis texas fan

Randolph is the actual guy. Randy is in general reference to his ignorant, aggsessed sip clones trolling the rant.
